lescazscoob Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 after all you lot have said just phoned for a quote and he wouldnt give me one??? big thumbs down for them. he never even took all my details just asked what best quote was and said sorry cant beat it he never even checked? have had a great quote from ensleigh so far £1500 fully comp low excess etc, having les on policy almost doubles it but they say young and male=high risk?? any other companies that you can recommend all help appriciated
FastScooby Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I went with norwich union (quotemehappy.co.uk), although keith micheals did beat them, but that was after the event, just use the online quote, they might surprise you. When i put the details in for my import it did say it was a 2005 although its a '95, but the price never changed.
irish al Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 www.greenlightinsurance.com Am with this company and unlike most leading insurers they know what a dump valve is. I added all modifications to my car, and i mean everything for a small sum of £25 [] Policy also lets you get track insurance for £80 with double excess. You can also try www.moneysupermarket.com/motor Al
MY94 Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 It must be a age thing..........I'm £590 fully comp,JDM STi and no probs with mods.........age 34 & a few years no claims.Thats with Keith Michaels. ;-)
derek_pettigrew Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 try Elephant they are normally good for Subarus
RS Grant Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Elephant or Admiral.. essentially its the same company, but I know some people that have saved a bit of money from going through Admiral direct. Cheers, Grant
AlanG Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Did you speak to Gary Moulson? I remember seeing a thread on another forum that he was/is on holiday and wouldn't be able to provide quotations. Maybe you spoke to a.n.other and thats how you're not getting a specific quote for the car. I'd phone back and ask for Gary specifically as he's the mman in the know when it comes down to providing Impreza quotations.
Ali Mowat Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Im 21 and insured with Elephant for £1200 fully comp for the year on a 97' UK turbo Wagon and 2 years no claims. Its a 10 month bonus accelerator policy. You have to pay it off in one go if you want to take the discount, works out a lot more paying monthly.
PECO Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I had problems with Keith Michaels also - they wouldn't even quote me! I am 33 with 10 years NCB, 3 points - WRX with non standard back box only - I was very surprised by this as I had heard good things about them - it was an online request so maybe that's why but didn't bother phoning them after that. Elephant are good, but I found 'A-Plan' to be cheaper and offered a better deal / service - worth a shot - good luck!
Rossco_ Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Im with keith michaels, phoned the boy Gary Moulson and he was an utter legend to me, knew exactly what i was talking about and gave me a decent quote so cant complain like
fai17 Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I had problems with Keith Michaels also - they wouldn't even quote me! Elephant are good, but I found 'A-Plan' to be cheaper and offered a better deal / service - worth a shot - good luck! That happened to me also on the online quote.....didn't give me a quote online... but i phone up and spoked to Gary Moulsen which took 3 attempts to get hold of him and i'm now insured with them for £635 including all the mods i can throw at the car. So my advice is to phone and ask for Gary himself and i might be worth the hassle with the money saved[Y]

AlanG Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 its was gary moulsen that i spoke to at keith michaels didnt seem too helpful I'm surprised to read that, but then again, we all have individual circumstances surrounding insurance needs, so maybe they couldn't provide an underwriter willing to accept the risks at a reasonable cost associated with your circumstances.
