T123VOR Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Hi all, I want to detango my front lights- see previous threads- but I'm not gonna lie I'm scared!! Anyone fancy helping me do it one evening in a few weeks (car being rebuilt at the mo' after remodelling from lithuanian van driver- see previous thread!!![:'(])? Also if i change my spoiler how do i fill the remaining holes in? I've decided on a haywood & scott centre and rear exhaust- unless Japperformance have something when we go down there!! Anyway have a good bank holiday all[] Trevor

darryl_martin Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 If you are going from a wrx spoiler to an STI one, the STI one has 12 bolts whereas the wrx has 4. Fortunately the bolts on the sti spoiler slide out, and four of them are in the same place as the holes left by the wrx one, which makes locating it a lot easier, and you don't have to fill in the old holes. Did mine the other week[] Put some masking tape on the boot. Take out the two longer bolts that don't have holes drilled so the shorter bolts touch the masking tape when you offer up the new one. Put a dab of paint on them, offer it up again and you should have some paint left on the tape to drill your holes.Got mine from japperformance parts, and would say try to get as many bolts in the spoiler as possible. I've got two missing and Subaru say they come as part of the spoiler. Time for some ingenuity or a trip back to crawley[]
T123VOR Posted May 29, 2006 Author Posted May 29, 2006 Cheers Granby I have both a wrx and a sti boot!!! Got the STI boot mint for £20 in my colour crystal grey But i actually like the jap style/spec c carbon spoiler!! i know they look abit halfords[] but i thought this would leave holes. Like this guy's- Thanks all Trevor
tony_cousins Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 The spoiler in the picture bolts on using the original wrx holes so no filling is required at all [Y] Go on be a devil and do it they look the nuts [6]
