STi_Bandit Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 I know iam one that does alot of downhill biking and need to completly strip the bike to get it in the boot of the scooby just found this as maybe a possible alternative but would mean getting the detable tow bar from subaru.. other than having a wagon seems to be the next best thing Martin Bike Rack
gus the bus Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Martin a bike rack on a scoob!!!! Is that not like as bad as towing a caravan with a Ferrari[]
STi_Bandit Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 If only the did split folds in the STi i would have no problem i hear the new 06 STi has spilt folds wonder if i can convince April lol
stuart_marshall Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 I know - it's so stupid making a big car like the Impreza and then not having fold down seats. I guess it's to do with rigidity or something? What's the point in saloons anyway - i don't understand! The back seats in my wagon spend most of the time folded down. Do the Classics not have fold down seats? Except for maybe 22B etc. I vaguely remember something about that.
STi_Bandit Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 Think its along the same lines as why the saloon does not come with a rear wash wipe, but iam sure we have all heard that one to many times, Ive a Ski hatch but i dont ski, DOH..... time to change sports Martin
shaun_odonnell Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 The RB5 and P1 do not have fold down rear seats purely to increase the rigidity of the shell.[]
STi_Bandit Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 Terzo aswell has a soild rear bulkhead :-) Martin
sheep Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Martin have you tried the thule wesite they do roof racks and bike carriers.
STi_Bandit Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 Cant really go for a roof rack, one lol cant kill the fuel econmy even more but the main ones is a downhill bike weights in the region of 50pounds, so i would do myself an injury lifting that up onto the roof. Martin
Racing Snake Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Cant really go for a roof rack, one lol cant kill the fuel econmy even more but the main ones is a downhill bike weights in the region of 50pounds, so i would do myself an injury lifting that up onto the roof. Martin I saw an Sti 8 at the Highland Games in Crieff last year with two MTB on a roof rack carrier. Fuel consumption must of been horrendous! I put my bike in a bike bag on the back seat, bit of a pain but better than roof rack or tow bar option.
seafar99 Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Martin, I've got a bike rack carrier in my garage which clamps over the 'tow bar ball' (stop sniggering at the back!) which i've had since i ran about in saab900turbo's , worked pretty well back then, haven't used it for a long time but you obviously have to have a tow bar fitted to be of any use to you.
