AP Brake Conversion

Hi Folks, Anyone know of any deals going on AP brake kits for Classic Turbos? 4 or 6 pot would be fine. I hear these are the best you can buy, but the price is a bit of a frightener!!

Don't know of any deals but I can confirm from personal experience that AP Racing 4 pots (330 mm I think) are excellent and like night and day compared to the standard brakes on a classic turbo which I found a bit scary. They also needed bigger alloys to fit over them which was a good excuse for that purchase! The only down side is that the grooved disks make a helluva noise.

That's when the upgrade to a NUR Spec exhaust happens, then you have to move house because your neighbours fall out with you over those early morning warm up sessions, and the you have to sell your car to fund the new house. There's no end. Come on those lucky lottery numbers[:D][:D]

Alright mate i,ve just upgraded to AP's they are amazing just tried them out at knockhill the other week, i dont know of any deals for them but tarox have just realised a 330mm 6 pot conversion for the impreza and it costs £999, found that in last months japanese preformance mag, the differance between AP's and tarox can only be minimal surely, hope this helps.

There is a group buy on wilwood 6 pots on p1woc at the mo if you fancy something different,or i think there are a few alcon/prodrive 330mm kits on ebay at the mo. I have these and they are really good.

I've got AP 6pots on mine and they are well worth the cash IMO - its night and day from the std brakes! I got mine through Ian Godney and got a really good deal.  Best have a chat with him, he's a top bloke and he might have some deals on.

The trouble with the AP kit is that it's not discounted heavily for trade, so their margins are slim and helps keep the price high.  Good for AP and their reputation, but cr@p for us lot paying for them.

The AP 6-pots are cheaper than the 4-pot kit, but I think that's simply down to demand & supply.  Ian Godney @ Godspeed can supply AP Calipers with his alloy bells and discs making the kit much more affordable.  The calipers he uses are slightly different to AP's own 6-pot kit as Ians discs are thicker - 32mm instead of AP's 28mm IIRC.
