bryan_taylor Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Hi guys Wondering if you can help please. Found a dent in the roof of my new MY06 STi before taking receipt of it from the dealer. I'm due to sign away my life for it this afternoon. They said we could "talk about it" and obviously this will go along the lines of "how much are you going to give me off the price ya b******s". So herein lies the question - what should I ask for in light of the fact I'll be taking on an accident damaged vehicle? It's only a very minor dent in the roof at the rear on the drivers side. Any thoughts would be appreciated - and if anyone has any nice legal one liners I can drop in to make them crap their pants - that would be good too!! Cheers
Rice Rocket Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 just refuse to sign for it until you are happ that: A) - its fixed correctly - You get money off and C) - You get some freebies thrown in for the hassle!! Don't ask you don't get! Ricey
Gumball Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 they need to take money off right now, or give you a free service or just dont take the car. if that dents big enough someone may not buy it off you in a while cos of that. dont accept their pish
karps Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 get them to fix dent and throw in mats and mudflaps for your trouble, after all you are paying for a NEW motor
fai17 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Agree with all the above.......use the sore point to your advantage[Y][]
bryan_taylor Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Thanks for all the comments and advice folks. Dent fixed 100% (dent devils) and first two services free - bonus! The car is looking awsome - I didn't realise the black was metallic till I saw it polished up and in the sun! Will post pics of my pride and joy soon Cheers
karps Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 when they say free make sure it is FREE as the first service is supposadly free anyway, although you pay for parts which equated to around £65
AVI_8 Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Personally I would reject the car and tell them I want another one. A brand new car with bodyfiller, I would my arse. Its not as though they can replace the panel, how do you know that the clear coat will not start to flake at the edges after a few years, i've seen this happen to resprayed panels with metalic paint in the past. Reject it matey unless they offer a considerable discount.
