STi_Bandit Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Ive been looking at quickshifts are they worth it do the make the changes better have been looking at two option the B&M quickshift or the Prodrive Quickshift. B&M = £199 Prodrive = £299 I know there seems to be a large cost difference here but what extras you paying for in the prodrive option Martin
jcscoob Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Not to sure witch i best, but i would be going for the B&M one myself , im gona keep an eye on this as im looking at the same thing !! []
gus the bus Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Martin I got the Prodrive one fitted from new and can only say its a great, slick change. I got it thrown in with the deal (lucky me[]) but obviously cannot compare against the B & M one. Would have too say that although I have the Prodrive one would find it difficult to see how much difference there would be in the mechanism. Is it £100 better? IMHO I doubt it! Gus
ANDYJDMSTI Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 wow that is a bit of a price difference!! Would be interesting to see what the difference is, not only in build quality but also in the feel of it in use.
scooby222 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 ive been thinking about this too, the six speed box could do with being a lil quicker and smoother
gus the bus Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Martin you get the B&M one and we can compare. The Prodrive one didnt cost me anything so wouldn't be put out if the B&M is better[][]
STi_Bandit Posted May 12, 2006 Author Posted May 12, 2006 seem to get more metal with the prodrive quickshift PRODRIVE QUICKSHIFT B&M QUICKSHIFT
gus the bus Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Thats my kit on the top[] deffo looks like a more substantial kit with the full linkage and set up! ...........and as I said I'm totally satisfied with the Prodrive stuff. Gus
STi_Bandit Posted May 12, 2006 Author Posted May 12, 2006 Iam swayed to the prodrive as it looks a more substanal system with full linkage replacement, rather than changing the leverage pivot point. Has anyone got the B&M or equal fitted?? Martin O/T Gus uve PM mate
irish al Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Ive got a B&M Quickshift, brand new £60 from flea bay. Am sure theres better things you could do before spending £300 to change gear faster IMHO [] Al
