Auto electrician

Have we got an auto electrician within k/scoobies, only i need one to have a look at my van as i have no indicators. Tried all the usual things and it even beat SCOOBYTOO[:)] HELP!!

GTB Limited (mark) would be the man you need......Bit of a wizz on car electrical stuff i beleive...

trouble is you need a shovel to get in there.

mark you need a wiring diagram to make life easier them my meter might come in handy[:)]

What things ahve you checked, changed if any?

I might be able to help, Im a spark of some 22yrs, have been known to dabble in the odd motor or 2!

i only had a look in the dark. no meter just a test light.

if i recall.....

power to indicator and hazard warning fuses power in and out.

no indicators, hazards, relay switches but doesnt flash on/off.

replaced ind sw and hazard sw. apparentely has blown fuses before. reverse lights also in op.

I need say no more my vehicle doctor has said it all[Y] how you remember all that[H][:)] and it was all done via a torch that resembled a candle[:D] you did not have the tools that you needed & i appoligise for not highliting this[:$], i do think you was more worried about the little bit of dust & the odd sandwich that had gone like hardboard[:)][:D][:D][:P]

i did say could be an earth probs but hard to trace without the right tools..............

Make up a flying lead, bolt it on to the car at nearest accesable point, short it on to the negative part of the indicator lamp and try the indicators1

If that dont work then i doubt its a dodgey earth!

Do you have power to the swith gear?

From the sw gear to the lights? need to select direction or 4way for this [:)]

Check all light and switch related earths.

 

Reverse will be a separate circuit.

hi mark,

yes there was live to sw.

 

i think its an earth problem.

going over sunday to have a proper look.
