STi_Bandit Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Is it me or have i noticed that everyone appears to be selling there subaru just now, I hope this is not a sign of the higher price of optimax and people not being able to run there cars, I know i get a shock at 100.9p for optimax and iam now planning my journeys more carfully. Martin
micra_wrc Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 think it may be u dude, i've noticed anything martin. tho i'm still on the "OMG I own a scooby" high and still adjusting to shorter journey times and higher petrol consumption than my micra & justy. re higher cost of optimax, i'm still planning to re-map mine to 95 ron - initially for convenience but now its looking like its for cost too - bonus imy []
dipsy Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I have loged on at petrol price.com and it tells who the cheapest for fuel in the area were i stay
Gumball Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Martin, SOme of the cars will naturally get sold from time to time. Thats normal. Some of the project stylie machines could be getting sold cos you get to a point where its complete and you dont have the mods left to put on. The excitement really does stop after you get to a point.
fai17 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 You are kind of correct Gumball but you should still enjoy driving your car no matter what mods you've done or still to do.[]
ANDYJDMSTI Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I aint selling mine...........yet! but then again i have not been able to enjoy it for a while, so it will have another bite at the cherry when styleeeed up [] Ref optimax - good interview in this months EVO with the shell rep that works on the fezza F1 team
G.T. Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 ive been thinking about selling up today and ive only had mine 6 months, do you ever feel like you constantly put fuel in the bugger no matter how sensible you drive and i always seem to be paranoid about somthing breaking. Dont get me wrong its probably my favourite car ive owned and probably still love it to bits , but if i was to add up what i pay for the car , fuel insurance etc etc i think i pay more for my car than i do my house.[:$] They are great cars and im glad i can now say i have owned one but i sometimes think there is better things i could be wasting my money on. I must admit to enjoying being part of sidc etc etc, but i dont feel it would be the same being a member and not having a scoob. Suppose its a case of thinking the grass is greener on the other side
4Hero Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 couldn't think of a better way of blowing my hard earned cash G.T., worth every penny. Six years of impreza turbo ownership now, and I try not to think about how much I have spent (it's better not to) Another one to be purchased yet in the next few weeks makes number 3, bring it on []
gus the bus Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Gareth, think you hit the nail on the heed mate! As I have two cars I was even thinking of buying a very standard, straight classic and doing it to my spec. Easier to have a £7k car in the garage most of the time than a £20k car. Couldn't afford to run the scoob all the time with the mileage I do as it would cost me £500-£700 a month in fuel rather than the £100-£150 in the Saxo.[].....but I love driving the scoob for entertainment and waited so f**kin long to get it !!!! As you say this forum is a great place to be but wouldnt be happy being on here scoobless. Gus

Suppose its a case of thinking the grass is greener on the other side This is what you need to do - Go get yourself an energetic lumber for the night and when you are done and puffing on a Hamlet everything will look rosey posey.........the drive back home will feel even more special too!!! []
G.T. Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 sounds just what i need andy but im stuck at work tonight and the drive home will be special tomorrow morning....... in the mrs saxo lol gave her a shot of my scoob tonight to keep the peace
RA Dunk Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 dont think i could bring my self to sell mine unless it was to get a BIGGER one!! []
insane clown Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 been there!!.........put signs in it, one person viewed it, after nearly a month, nothing. so i put a sign in the passat and sold within 2 hours!!!........now i'm loving the scoob even more,...........for the first time since i've had it i actualy leathered the windows inside and out!!...........and inside the doors........next...the dash!!! and fook the petrol, you need it so you have no choice, don't like paying over inflated prices but.......look at the joy that comes with it[]
dan_jess Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 I'm selling mine, well let me rephrase that, i'm trying to sell mine, i have no doubt whoever comes to see the car will buy it. Just dont seem to be getting any interest at all, and i dont think im asking to much either! I'll defo be getting another scoob when im back in the country tho, i wud miss it to much, plus no other car sounds like a scoob, so ad get bored if i had anything else []
