STi_Bandit Posted April 10, 2006 Author Posted April 10, 2006 Just been looking through the handbook and it keeps refering to 225/45/R17 yet on the car is 225/40/R17 is this the common case or should i be putting 45's back on ??
wrxmania Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Should be 45's IIRC - 40 profile was for classics if I am not mistaken? Brian []
steven_young Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Toyo T1-S i thought was the worst tyre i have ever bought, now running Michelin Pilot Sports and cant fault them
STi_Bandit Posted April 10, 2006 Author Posted April 10, 2006 All i know is on the car at present is 225 / 40 / R17 and all the stickers and in the handbook say 225 / 45 / R17, so if iam replacing all me tyres should i go for the 45's as what is stated in the book or stick with what i have, what sizes are on other peoples newage sti's
wrxmania Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Pretty sure its' 45's Martin - do a search in for sale for STI wheels - it may tell you in there. Brian []
STi_Bandit Posted April 10, 2006 Author Posted April 10, 2006 Yeah that was my next port of call brian, was going to PM Gumball, as i rember he had STi Wheels for sale, the previous owner of me car did have classics so he may have put them on by mistake being used to classics Martin
STi_Bandit Posted April 10, 2006 Author Posted April 10, 2006 Yeah iam pretty sure, ill take a pic the night probally make a fool of myself when you all point out infact they are 45's, but from a glance iam sure they said 40's I remeber on my UK300 it had the 18" oz wheels and was running a 40 profile Martin
fai17 Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Yeah iam pretty sure, ill take a pic the night probally make a fool of myself when you all point out infact they are 45's, but from a glance iam sure they said 40's I remeber on my UK300 it had the 18" oz wheels and was running a 40 profile Martin Yes on it will be 225/40/18. Is your car not with you so you can look at it right now.

Martin Doh![][].................... and what do you reckon to the RE040's Martin???? I've got these tyres on my STi alloys and have to say they IMHO are utter P*sh. F1's or others before the months out[]
STi_Bandit Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Ive BF Goodridge G-Force on the front and they seem to be ok the RE040's are on the rear and i find they seem to make the car drift alot espically in the wet.... Still need tyres though is looking like michlien sports or F1's Martin
gus the bus Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Might check out the price of the BF's too then. A good contact in the tyre industry also highly recommended Falkens [] new competition tyre (which is also road legal!) so I said to him I might do a scooby test on them to see how they go and would report back. He was gonna get me a full set @ £280-£300 to try them out so, thinking about it! Gus
STi_Bandit Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Yeah, i think its F1's for me all round good all round wet and dry weather traction [] Martin

wrxmania Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I Like the BFG's - the new ones not the Profiler G (yeuchh) but the G-Force profiler - designed for the Impreza... I think Squirrel had them before too. Good wet and dry tyre. Brian []
