Just been looking through the handbook and it keeps refering to 225/45/R17  yet on the car is 225/40/R17 is this the common case or should i be putting 45's back on ??

All i know is on the car at present is 225 / 40 / R17 and all the stickers and in the handbook say 225 / 45 / R17, so if iam replacing all me tyres should i go for the 45's as what is stated in the book or stick with what i have, what sizes are on other peoples newage sti's

Yeah that was my next port of call brian, was going to PM Gumball, as i rember he had STi Wheels for sale, the previous owner of me car did have classics so he may have put them on by mistake being used to classics

Yeah iam pretty sure, ill take a pic the night probally make a fool of myself when you all point out infact they are 45's, but from a glance iam sure they said 40's

I remeber on my UK300 it had the 18" oz wheels and was running a 40 profile

Yes on it will be 225/40/18.

Is your car not with you so you can look at it right now.

Doh![:P][:)].................... and what  do you reckon to the RE040's Martin???? I've got these tyres on my STi alloys and have to say they IMHO are utter P*sh.  F1's or others before the months out[:)

Ive BF Goodridge G-Force on the front and they seem to be ok the RE040's are on the rear and i find they seem to make the car drift alot espically in the wet....

Still need tyres though is looking like michlien sports or F1's

Might check out the price of the BF's too then.

A good contact in the tyre industry also highly recommended Falkens [:)] new competition tyre (which is also road legal!) so I said to him I might do a scooby test on them to see how they go and would report back. He was gonna get me a full set @ £280-£300 to try them out so, thinking about it!

I Like the BFG's - the new ones not the Profiler G (yeuchh) but the G-Force profiler - designed for the Impreza...

I think Squirrel had them before too.  Good wet and dry tyre.
