Baz81 Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Sinse you guys are in the know, can some one advise whats involved in changing the indicators on a MY99 on the front b umper ? Got a donor car that I'm also getting a set of OZ prodrive wheels, gold multi spoke fella's. If someone knows the ones.. what are they called? Cheers
Rice Rocket Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 1 bolt. 1 long arm extension, 1 socket and either a 10 mm or a 12mm socket if my memory serves me right, pluse unhitching the bulb casing at the back. Think its the bolt that holds the spot light in also. Ricey
FastScooby Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 As rice rocket says.. 12 mm socket and patience taken 10mins to change the 2
Baz81 Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 Cheers Ricey, sounds like its no a pain to do then.. Just hope its not raining later when i come to do that and change the wheels..
ally-b Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 If the wheels are the same as in my avitar ,they are OZ Prodrive P1 http://www.wheelspecs.com/specs/wheelmodels/1566 Changing front indicators on a '99 is a doddle - 1 screw to be undone at the front of each , and then swing it out . . . . no bolts involved [] Al.
Rice Rocket Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Thats was 8 yr ago for me doing that, old age hasnt set in yet or has it! where am I? What are we talking about? hmmm Rocket Rice
colin_ross Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 No bolts on the my99 indicators (thats the sidelights), just one philips screw. Take it out and the indicator will just fall out. Twist out the bulb, twist it into the new one (orange bulb would be useful here) and screw it back on. My missus could do it.
ally-b Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Silver bulbs are better - stops them looking like fried-eggs [] Al.
Baz81 Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 Playsatan2, your misses free to do it? That wa I could go for a pint? Buy you one too. [] Thats the wheels... P1 fella's, not bad for nothing !
colin_ross Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Playsatan2, your misses free to do it? That wa I could go for a pint? Buy you one too. [] Doubt you could afford my missus hourly rate, I know I can't. If you're needing a hand pop along to the Glasgow meet tonight and I'm sure they be on in 2 mins. Failing that just ask and I'm sure someone local would help out.
Baz81 Posted April 7, 2006 Author Posted April 7, 2006 PMSL... Dam females are expensive! Got is sorted, it did take a whole 3 minutes.. Wish I could drive my scoob, big end is fried. Spoke to the warranty company yesterday and they said I can take it to any garage that I choose.. So it will be winging its way to hyper tech soon, just need to have the discussion with Dunc..
