Have been reading forums for a while now and have decided to join in. Have owned a bog standard Bugeye STi PPP  for the past few years but the wife has managed to aquire it for her daily commute so have recently purchased aTypeUK .  Previous owner of the TypeUK had done a few mods so I have already started spending money at Greersport repairing/uprating things. Will post pics once I work out how Photobucket thing works. cheers John.

Currently the specs are as follows

Bugeye- Standard STi with the prodrive perfomance pack, quickshift kit , prodrive styling stuff. Will uprate the suspension once it becomes tired or broke.

Type UK - Currently has leather interior, Momo steering wheel and gear knob, prodrive spoiler skirts and splitter?, PIAA spot lights, quad light conversion. On the perfomance side it has Induction kit, dump valve, groupA downpipe ,Magnox exhaust ( de catted) and some sort of chip/cheat. Brakes are Tarox 6 pot callipers with groved discs and hard pads.  17 inchProdrive alloys. I think thats all. Have just fitted Whiteline bushes and rollbars to front and rear (Greersport). The next mod is likely to be a remap so the chip/cheat can be removed . After that not really sure, open to sugestions.

As I use the Type UK every day (500 miles/week) all the mods need to be sensible. Not looking for masive BHP just like having fun.

Ok, I'm confused... Before anyone else says it, I agree, it doesnt take much!! [B)]

From  your pictures, it looks like you have a MY02 Blue-Black Bugeye STi Type UK and a MY98 UK PPP with a sh@tload of Prodrive/Aftermarket Goodies fitted to it.. I just dont see two Bugeyes, no matter how much I squint!! lol!!

The car I think you are calling a Type UK, is the Blue MY98 UK Turbo.. Looks like a bloody nice base car to add a few more mods to and from what I've read/heard about the guys at Greersport, I'm sure they'll keep you right.

If it is a MY98, they are right, you dont want any sort of 'chip' on there at all.. however, I've not heard of a 're-map' for a MY98 ECU that proves better value (BHP per Pound & also adjustability/safety-wise) than an Andy F Apexi Power FC jobbie. In fact, I can only think of two places that sell a 're-map' of a MY98 ECU and thats Powerstation in England and Dastek in Dalgety Bay.. again, I'd go Power FC rather than either of these places.

Welcome to SIDC though, you've made a good decision joining, all you gotta do is get yourself down to a local meet and introduce yourself now!! [H]

Cheers,

No your right, I was getting confused, the blue one is a MY98 UK Turbo. Ive not had it that long and didnt really do much research in to all the different models or specs I just liked the look ( I also knew the seller who had had it for 5 years and he had all the performance stuff done). Whats the damage on a AndyF Apexi power FC thingy ? Will it make a night n day differance ? (Probably a stupid question !) At the moment its way slower than the bugeye but the power is very smooth all the way (to the red).

Will probably get to a meet at Hillington, Went to the Kart day that Kartman organised V good Fun.

Apexi Power FC Supplied, fitted and custom mapped £750

Apexi FC Commander handset £80

Took that from Andy F's own website.. Which can be found here.

It will definitely make a difference and you can also ask to have the car custom set-up to your driving style, eg: big midrange grunt rather than top end power etc. IMO, it also removes the worry of any engine problems happening which is worth its weight in gold because finding replacement short motors and someone to fit it for you wont be a cheap exercise. The car looks great, as I said, looks like its had a fair amount of money spent on it.. on quality kit too. [H]

Cheers,

Thanx for the help with that. Andy F's looks like a future investment. As I said the cars not too bad it really the driver that holds it back.

Thanx for all the nice comments regarding the looks. Might go for a roof vent thingy just to finish it off

cheers John
