WagonBlue Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Hi, I’ve just had a 3” stainless steel exhaust fitted to my year 2000 turbo wagon. It’s a centre de-cat and back box replacement made by Scorpion. Sounds great but is a bit boomy at lower revs. The back box is welded to the centre section pipe and is about 7ft long so I can’t refit the original centre section. There is a slip connection for the front pipe flange that is about a foot long that could be replaced with a small silencer. The other option I was thinking was to put the centre cat back in don’t know if this would work but I need to do is speak to an engineering shop that can cut and weld stainless pipes. I wanted to know if anyone knows of a place in either in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Aberdeen or Dundee that could advise and work on the car in order to keep the noise down at lower revs. Any advice would be most appreciated. Cheers
dave_morgan Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I'm pretty sure Glenburgie in Forres do exhausts. www.glenburgie-subaru.co.uk HTH, Dave
WagonBlue Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 Thanks, I'll give them a call and see what they can offer. Does anyone know of a fabrication shop that can modify exhausts? Stuart
Iaing Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 For custom exhausts i'd go to turriff tyres. They've got a branch of powerflow there and are supposedly quite good. There are others near by that i refuse to comment on.[:@] Iain
RA Dunk Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 heard alot of good things about turriff tyres exhausts maybe worth looking to it
WagonBlue Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 Thanks, that looks like just the place I'm looking for! I'll be up there soon, need to try some sound insulation in the boot floor first but not sure if it'll help? This is by far the best Scooby forum! Cheers! []
