Done for Speeding...........

Well i managed to pick up my 2nd speeding conviction tonight....

43 in a 30.... sounds fairly high but.....

It was on Gt Western Rd heading towards Dumbarton at around Blaidardie, road is 3 lanes wide, very open and about 150yards ahead is a 50 sign, started gently easing up from 30 when i see the sign and then a big yellow jacket wanders out onto the road.... gutted.

Depending on what impact this has on my insurance it might be the end of my scoob come renewal time....

Ah well, i guess i shouldn't moan, i broke the law and got caught..........

Nightmare Chris [:P]

Everytime I drive my car I hear a whizzing sound from it and spend most of the time checking behind me cos I think its the Police [*-)] and I don't even drive fast.

I am still a bit scared of the power of my car, need a few lessons I think!!

thats a bummer mate

ive done much quicker than that on gwr heading to and from work

guess its just your donald [:P]

Yeh its a deceiving road, cos its 3 lanes and at the times i use it usually fairly quiet so it tends to make you press on a bit, certainly 30 feels like crawling.....

Hey ho, what can i do, if i don't take the fixed penalty i'll prolly end up getting a bigger fine / more points.....

On the plus side jus done a couple of insurance quotes (its not up til September anyway) and it isn't making much of a difference, certainly not enough to make me change cars altho my modding plans may be scuppered....

Think i may invest in a road angel / origin B2, i genuinely don't drive fast (apart from the occasional squirt on quiet country type roads) but seem to get picked up when doing a little over the speed limit, previous points where for 84 on a motorway, clear day, mid-afternoon on the way back up from a conference in the Lake District ....
