Johnny50 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Can anyone recommend anywhere decent to stay up North ? Am going to be working up there for the next few weeks, Aberdeen, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Banff, Buckie, Turriff and Aboyne. Somewhere fairly central to them all would be good, and around £50ish a night (i'm tight [] ) Thanks a lot. Johnny.
pm9575 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 To be honest, there are a few decent B&B's dotted around all over these parts, and especially Banff may prove a good location. You've got a pretty broad run if Buckie, Aberdeen, and Peterhead are to be commuted to - so again try Banff, Macduff. Search the Scottish Tourist info site for B&B's perhaps? Good luck.
dave_morgan Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Try www.wotif.com ,I've always found the hotels they list are great, and superb value.
Spaceman Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Stay in macduff and head over to the seafield nightclub (if you can call it that.) you will have a great laugh and the fine ladys like freash meat if ya catch ma drift..... Just remember to duck, if ya pick the wrong one lol Oh and don`t dance the yokles don`t like it lol. Spaceman
Carl Davey Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 My dear ol' Mum commutes to all of those destinations from bonnie Turra' Lindsay. £50 a night you say? I'm sure i could find a spare room in my humble abode for you. [] What is it you're coming up for?
Johnny50 Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 Cheers for the replies guys. Spaceman, i've spent many a night in the Seafield, never again. [] Also spent too many nights in the Macduff Arms aswell in my younger days. Carl, my new jobs means i'm visiting all the Lloyds TSB branches throughout Scotland, upgrading the BT CSDN connections to new network cards, so they can eventually go voice over IP. It's all backshift though. I do have a mate that stays in Whitehills, but he's at Sea at the moment, and i cant get a hold of him to see if i can use his place. bu66er.
Carl Davey Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 The Fife Arms in Turriff seems to pick up a lot of the local passers by. It's a bit less spit and sawdust than the rest of the local bars and Sandra is a good lass if a little uptitght sometimes. Loads of places here - http://www.turriffanddistrict.com/index.php?topicid=3 My old dear is travelling to Aboyne at the moment and isn't enjoying it, this is probably more due to the fact she is travelling with the rush traffic. Working backshifts you shouldn't have much of a problem. I'm away on Wednesday but if there's anything i can do before then give me a shout. []
