st3ph3n Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Was at a house warming in Bathgate last night, driving to the house, very slowly over the third or 4th speedbump in the street when I hear CRRRRRRRRRRRRKKKKKKK. Splitter has sustained some minor dmagage in the middle of it. Taken the black paint off and some of the fibreglass. Looks fixable as it's quite a small chunk, but I'm not sure what's best to use. I watched my cousin fix the front of his gokart with some sort of pink gloop for repairing fibreglass, so I'm thinking that would be ideal, and then just some matt black paint over the top of it. Or I might just remove the splitter, but it looks so damn good.
wrxmania Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Eeeek! Don't wangt to hear stories like this after fitting my splitter [] Hope you get it fixed ok. Brian []
dougie549 Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Hi st3ph3n Just wondering what type of splitter and the car that its fitted to? Front on pic would be nice Cheers Dougie
wrxmania Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Hi Dougie, I am sure its' a Scott Lowe Splitter and on a Blobeye WRX. Brian []
st3ph3n Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 It is a Scott Lowe one. Not the easiest thing to photograph given the colour of the car but:
oobster Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Sore one stephen, u not fancy leaving it until the gritters have gone and getting it re-painted?
bigbadboab Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Stephen, try going over the bumps at an angle if possible
st3ph3n Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 I'm usually VERY careful these days boab. But I was trying to hunt down the house I was going to and the first bumps I went over hadn't caused damage. It's not "painted" as such anyway oobster. Bit of filler and some black marker will sort it right out. Maybe! TBH how much is painting compared to just replacing it with another one?
