scientific steve Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 This aint been my weekend, i am very unhappy at the mo i am on holiday as of wednesday and was ment to be seeing the flat four god andy f. on friday to get my type R sorted but guess what? there is a knocking in my engine that i am sure is bottom end bearing [:'(] so aint able to get the mota flying like a good un and it's gonna hurt my beer vouchers a little bit any ideas as what could be a good plan of action?
jamie_wood Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Not so good Steve[] Best plan of action would be to get someone to have a look at her for you. Trouble is that this is where the money starts to fly out of the wallet. Trying to find a garage that hasn't got horses tied outside isn't so easy theses days. (yee ha) Options would be to either repair the btm end you have or get your hands on a short motor. Either way your going to be upwards of £1700-£2500 by the time parts, labour[:$][6] and VAT are all billed to you. Not sure if Russell (WUZ) will be up for having a look at this when hes back. I know hes got a lot on his plate just now. STI short motors are thin on the ground just now. I was looking for one a few weeks back and results were poor. I will PM you with a couple of numbers to ring that were promising. Cheers
