For the techies- STI sport de-cat downpipe

Folks I've got the chance of a Prodrive sport-cat which was removed from an sti (at 1 week old!) just wondering if this will indeed fit the WRX300? As the car is new(ish) and i dont't want to go aftermarket for now [:(] I've been informed that fitting this (if it does fit?) wont affect my warranty and wont require re-map etc...

advice please!

Cheers

It will likely fit but not be a very tight fit unless it is *******ised slightly..........I tired fitting a PPP high flow cat to my WRX 2002 and the guys at AWD reckoned it didn't fit great. The brackets are different too I think.

I just bought one of these  which shpould fit nicely. It's fitted as part of the TSL 333 package so might not be as good as a full decat but for the sake of a few ponies I didnt have to d1ck around come MOT time.

I would avoid fitting it if I were you. Quite a lot of labour to pay if it fits poorly ?

p.s here is one on Fleebay

Cheers Cal,

I'd been  looking at the TSL one on fleebay and like you don't want the MOT/ remap issues of full decat. The STI one was offered to me for £110 so thats why I was asking. Sounds like I'd be better holding fire and spending the £395 if its a better fit/bet. I take it you dont need a remap with a sport/ highflow cat.

You could put in the highflow cat and decat the rear centre without a remap.  I have one for sale ( centre & link section) as it turns out - see below

You could go full decat without a remap but I'd advise against it.......

I'm selling a universal high-flow sportscat. It's ideally for a 3 inch bore exhaust, but as it has to be fitted by sectioning the pipe in, i dare say you could get reducers added to sort that out.
