It is a phenomenal amount of money but i reckon Exxon and BP will trounce it !

Before anyone flames Shell they make 7% profit on their revenue and most of that gets ploughed into new ventures on the following year. They DO NOT make most of their money at the pumps. They make it long before then when refined oil is sold to make plastics, cosmetics, lubes, chemicals and fuel.

And we can moan about the tax revenues but it effectively is used to fund the countries ( albeit poor ) services.

If you have a pension with any company then it is likely linked to oil revenues so it is good news.

I am fed up with folk moaning about Shell making too much money. They have to spen billions to make billions in the first instance. They also have thoudands & thousands of shareholders too please too.........

Cheers

Cal

p.s I'm looking forward to my bonus in April though face-icon-small-tongue.gif.......

thats why a bankers draft or electronically transfering money is the prefered method. youd look silly carrying that amount of poppy.

as Andy mentioned.......... if your sick of hearing/reading about folk moaning about shells profit margins then you could do one or all of the following

A) forget your username and password

B) dont look at the posts with moans about shells profit margins and turnover

C) smoke a goat

Cal, Exxon Mobil did trounce it earlier in the week. Biggest profit by any company in the world EVER! $33.86bn.

That's a fair chunk'o'change.

I was actually referring to the kn0bheads in the press and not the SIDC contingent. The comments above mine were in this thread were actually postive face-icon-small-wink.gif

And beside it's my duty to defend the providers of the Optimax nectar face-icon-small-happy.gif

Even though i'm without the turbo'd legs that the judge also denied me, I just want to add my 2 pence worth.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

We should not be mad at shell as they do provide the liquid nectar that is Ronald 98.  Mr Brown is the enamy.  60p in every ltr going into that red suitcase case of his...

Why are fuel taxes so high?  Because he known’s that a vast majority of us have no option but to use or own vehicles for work and general living (It’s a same that the petrol heads suffer more) its a guarantee of a stable income.  Not to forget that his fuel is paid for him and he earns a few 100k a year. (Those with money have no worry) (God damed..... beeb... beeb ...) sorry bought that.

So if you want cheaper fuel, don't stop buying.  Boycott a company at a time and force a price war !!

Oh and it costs the tax payer 1mil for every tum ahawk missile that is fired and a 46 were fired in the first night of the Iraqi war!!

P.S I do apologise for my out burst
