scoobyfuzzy Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 hi guys need some help, but its not for a subaru, its a bmw 520, thot there mite be somes guys out there that might be able to help, having trouble with starting the thing, wouldnt start the other morning, put jump leads on, started no problem, but died when light, heater etc were put on, so i took it to be an alternator problem, after checking it, i found the alternator tensioner bracket was damaged so the belt was getting the right tension, so put a new bracket on, started fine no problems with driving, lights on, heater on etc, been starting fine the last few morning, then this morning, back to the same, not starting at all, this is not my car, its the brothers n he lives about 100 miles away so i cant just pop round to look at it, ive said to him to check the tensioner n belt etc, but anyone have anymore ideas on wot the problem could be??? fuzzy
IanJ Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Try putting the battery on charge. If once it's charged it starts then drive it straight to a garage and get the alternator and battery checked. If it won't take a charge, buy a new battery and get the alternator checked anyway.
scoobyfuzzy Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 its a brand new battery put on it last week fuzzy
