Gumball Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Hi, I bought these alloys from Midlands Wheels down south. The wheels arrived today after me sitting in all day to wait for them. What happened next is most strange and annoying. I left my house to go to my usual tyre supplier/fitter in order that he could take my toyos off and put them onto my spanking shiny new rims. As i was admitedly going V fast to get to the place in time and i mean fast......the magical blue flashing lights came on behind me. I pulled over to the hard shoulder and awaited my fate (ie license removed from my sweaty palms for a good while) and was ushered with a torch into the back of the police car (similar to teh cinema without the popcorn or the cheery smile) Luckily for me, good manners aside i was told that the camera wasnt turned on and had it been i would have had the green paper revoked due to the speed on the motorway i was doing. stupid i know. He gave me a harsh, stern, serious warning and sent me on my way. it emerged that my tyre place was too busy anyway and i had to go to kwik fit. they took the shiny new rim out the box and checked to make sure the wheels that i was sold YES THEY WILL FIT OVER THE BREMBO CALIPERS................clearly as my day was going....THE DONT !!!! AAARRRGGGG i asked the pie heads several times if they would fit and "oh yes, no worries etc etc" SO These brand new alloys can either be bought for perhaps a WRX which it will fit or im going to have to send them down south and get a refund. I paid £320 and am selling these now for £300!!! 17" +48 offset PM me
IanJ Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Send them back to the feckers. Sale of goods act etc
Gumball Posted December 30, 2005 Author Posted December 30, 2005 spacers is an idea. i will send them back on wednesday/thursday but wanted to see if anyone wanted them first. im gutted, they are really nice rims !!!
p1ggm Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 they look similar to mine. i got mine from revolution, fitted perfect if you are going to be looking for another set i would reccomend them
AlanG Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 If you bought on the pretext that they would fit on your vehicle and it subsequently doesn't,then the mistake lies on their doorstep. Phone them detailing your complaint and offer a solution to your predicament in that they can either: A: Arrange pickup of the wheels at your convenience and deliver a correct set or B: Arrange pickup of the wheels and refund the invoice total. If the conversation goes downhill, you can always remind them of the Sale of Goods Act (section 13 or 14 i think) whereby goods have to be of merchantable quality and fit for the purpose intended. In your case it would appear the goods fall foul of the Sale of Goods Act and hence the supplier would be liable under the terms of the act.
Gumball Posted December 31, 2005 Author Posted December 31, 2005 thanks Alan, i will try them with spacers if no one buys them. failing that i will have the conversation with them around some kind of solution.

Gumball Posted January 1, 2006 Author Posted January 1, 2006 their called redlines on their site then i get a box that says inovate or wtf ever. search for redline. someone commented today that this is a fishy goings on. i just bought the wheels-they dont fit-i thought i would sell them instead of waiting for a courier all day again. about as fishy as you can get eh £300 for these wheels is a good price. you see them pictured above and they look even better when you get hands on. the finish is great. someone take them please
