Plug
Hello all, I've been getting a bit of an oily smell from under the bonnet recently, had the local garage have a look at it. They reckon the rocker cover gasket is leaking a bit and it's dripping onto the exhaust heatshield, is that a big job to get sorted? Cheers, Plug Link to comment
Socko
I have exactly the same problem, its been like it for months I'm getting it sorted on my next service. I've been told either rocker cover gasket or half moon seals. Link to comment
CAZ1562
When you're that far in, get BOTH done. Common fault unfortunately, however its also worth replacing the rubber washers on the rocker cover bolts. Yes they add a few quid onto the bill but its better replacing ALL the seals once you've disturbed them all. Link to comment
insane clown
not a big job but more akward than anything, had same on mine then took it to 22b andy for a bit more work and is fine now, if you do it yourself then use gasket seal too, this will help when it all goes back and will ensure that it won't leak again soon after, (they will if no gumf on it).....and i think he said there are around 10 diferent gaskets for one side? (while its all out then wise to do the lot!?)... Link to comment
