imprezapete Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Got the lovely nice engine warning light up on my car today, took it to Chris Alan to which he told me my Camshaft postion sensor is broken. He phones up nobles and asks for the price of a black version to which he looks at me as if hes sucking lemons! £105+VAT and 1 hours fitting! I'm sick as a parrot, cars bleeding me dry this month thats about £1k in the last 2 months now, I must be crazy

paddy247 Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Its all worth it in the end. probs best going for new on sensors anyway.
scoobyfuzzy Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 i put mine in to get the timing belt done, got a phone call from the garage saying the timing nelt tensioner was needing replaces aswell, told him just to do it, didnt think it would be that dear, im glad i was already sitting down when he told me it was £120 plus for the tensioner, yes scoobys r dear to run. fuzzy
coulty Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Christ almighty! I can change a cam sensor in about 3 mins tops. Imagine the cheek of having to pay an hours labour!!! I had a spare cam sensor if i had known you could have had it (assuming its the early classic type sensor! Stuart
imprezapete Posted December 9, 2005 Author Posted December 9, 2005 Thanks coulty, chris says its the black version of the sensor instead of the Browns on the classics. It seems the blacks are on the newage.
sma01 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 , sell it and buy a nova.....LOL one of the hazards of owning a scooby, the 2 options are to sell it, cos they will always be a drain on the finances, or dry the eyes and be proud owning a scoob.... TBH, £1k in the past 2 months isnt really all that much scott
4Hero Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 sell it and get a brand new one, much cheaper to run..
ScoobyAndy Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Just deal wi it m8 Its the price you pay for owning a performance car. Least yor getting it sorted next week
