Gumball Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 i cant be hooped counting but there looks to be around 50 people up for this now. if need be we can look at the teams closer to the time if the numbers dont balance out or maybe the RO's can look for more people to assist in their region not getting hammered on the day? Glasgow, Edinburgh and Fife seem to have good numbers at the moment. will this change................... John S- I will speak to the relevant people over the next week or so and find out how much this will cost. could you arrange for this to be purchased through the sidc shop please? All suggestions welcome..... Chris
Gumball Posted January 1, 2006 Author Posted January 1, 2006 I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I HAVE A WEDDING TO ATTEND THIS WEEKEND AND CANT GET OUT OF IT. IS THERE ANYONE ELSE THAT CAN SORT THIS EVENT OUT OR WILL IT NEED CANCELLED? SORRY
Gumball Posted January 1, 2006 Author Posted January 1, 2006 OK, Im going to have to as i said either leave this event all together or someone else can do it. required- 1. speak to Dave (kartman) and Scoobykart who works at raceland and arrange the day 2. ask John S again to create a payment method for the day. 3. add a small amount onto the fee. this will provide enough for the winning team prize. 4. think of a prize 5. speak to the local pub/restaurant about lunch. (someones posted the name of it on this thread i think) 6. have a good day so, its not really a hard task but personally i dont have the time at the moment and cant make the day. APOLOGIES, AND I KNOW STAND DOWN
Gumball Posted January 2, 2006 Author Posted January 2, 2006 aye its my wedding. no ones invited either lol someone please pick up this event organisation for the sake of the members. or itll need to be binned. i think theres still another 60 people that have their "event virginity" to lose
oobster Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 If this still goes ahead (hope it does!) then i'd like to add my name to the list of spectators. Or 'touchers'.
dave_morgan Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Ok, ok, I'll pick this one up. Looks like about 48 names, so looking hopeful for a definite event here. I'll contact Raceland tomorrow to check the date and then post up a new thread for everyone to confirm they still definitely can do it. I'll then PM my address so you can all send me payment. The final price will depend which event we decide to go for, which depends how many people we end up getting. It will either be £40 (if we get 40 or more people and can run an endurance race) or £47.50 if we get 16 or 32 (for a Super GP race). If we don't get enough to run the endurance, it will have to be exactly 16 or exactly 32, and this will be worked out on a strictly first come (ie paid) first served basis. There's a great list here, so we should be able to get an endurance sorted, which is a lot easier to work on from a points perspective. If you have freinds/family/workmates who fancy it, we may well open it up as I want to make sure we get a great turn out here. Gummy also mentioned chipping in a little extra to buy the Edinburgh team, I mean the winning team lunch. Sounds like a great idea to me, but I'd appreciate if someone else could step in and organise that side of things? Also, any suggestions about how much we should chip in extra would be appreciated. £2.50 extra would give us around £100 probably, which would be pretty decent, but maybe too much?!?! Suggestions please. I'll post more info tomorrow (if work isn't too manic!!!) Oh, and Happy New Year y'all !!
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I also have discovered that I have a wedding in St Andrews that weekend so I need to bomb out too ....... cheers Cal ( with no ADSL at home till 9th of Jan hence so quiet of late..........)

dave_morgan Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Been in touch with Raceland and am just working out final details with them. Tom (the owner) is kean to get us down there so is willing to be a bit more flexible than he would with A.N. Other booking (he's a Subaru owner too), so I'm just working with Graham to get the the best event at the best price. One concern I had was timing however. Gumballs original idea was to have an early start and then retire for a nice lunch somewhere. Is this ok with the Aberdonian contingent? It would mean getting home at a reasonable time, but will mean an early start. Opinions here would be appreciated please. The usual options are chek-in at approx 9:30, 12:30 or 3:30. I have to admit I like the early option, as it makes for better carpark photo opportunities after the event, and leaves time for lunch etc., but just want to make sure we don't put people off with the early start. More details soon.
scientific steve Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 any more info on this ? is it still going to happen and are folk still up for this ? << Gumballs original idea was to have an early start and then retire for a nice lunch somewhere. dave_morgan Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Sorry about the delay guys. Been busy with other things, and am not 100% sure if I'll be here for the event either. I will however go ahead with the organisation of it once I get some definite prices back from Graham at Raceland. I'll post a new thread tomorrow to see who is still up for it. Dave
dave_morgan Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Name is added... See new post here : Confirm you place here..... clicky Dave
