chris_c201 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Alright Folks, Time to share my tale of woe... Was being subjected to xmas shopping through at macarthur glen today so we left the house about 9ish, stopping at a snack bar on south street for breakfast. As i'm a fat b i sat and ate for about 20 mins then i take the rubbish to the bin etc and get set to go..... Turn the key and nothing, then remember the immobiliser will have kicked in so hit the button and try again, still nothing, this time i notice the lights on the dash go a little dim when trying to turn over.... thinking that my immobiliser isn't disabling cos its not turning over at all i then get out the car, lock it, unlock it and try again, no difference... I decided at this point it was my immobiliser and not knowing my pin for over-ride phone my brother to come and take me home to get the pin, after coming off the phone i try one more time and the car turns over for about 2 secs then dies, back on the phone and tell him to bring jump leads.... 25 mins later he arrives by which time i'm frozen to the bone and we hook up the leads and the car starts no bother.... drove through to livingston (jump leads in the boot!) and go shopping, go back to car and its fine... been fine since...... bizzare!! What ya think, get a new battery anyway? Cheers Chris.
dougster Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Scoobs have p*** poor batteries. I'll get you a price for a new one.
Gumball Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 i have the same problem. was at hillington the other day waiting for a colleague when i turned on the engine after listening to the radio for 20 mins it was dead. the turbo timer says the battery voltage is 14.1v so i dont think its the alternator. time for a new battery. apprently costco sell them fairly cheap
chris_c201 Posted November 19, 2005 Author Posted November 19, 2005 Yeh it musta just been the radio... don't think it would have been the alternator either as when it started i disconnected the leads straight away and it didn't faulter so i guess it must be... I'll probably be over at costco this weekend anyway so i'll take a look, if its a decent price i'll prolly grab one and i'll post the price anyway... Cheers Chris
alistair_learmonth Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 The sigma alarm plays merry with yer battery if not run for a bit.
