attention all- sunday morning

When we get to AWD the leaders of the groups will be sitting at the front obviously on the route which is planned but not for public knowledge for reasons which i think we all understand.

Last time we were all out on mass there was the TVR club out the same day which was a demonstration of the fact that car clubs on days out is acceptable to all.

what as i have mentioned before we need to do is ensure that the high powered cars we posses are kept under a reasonably tight leash throughout the day. the last thing we need is any attention for missbehaviour. is we play the game and drive within the speed limits we are doing nothing wrong. usual script.

This excercise is more about the photoshoot and the attendance of scooby magazine and less about driving like we do round KH.

Everyones safety and happiness along with looking out for each other, including alerting each other of dangers/hazardsface-icon-small-wink.gifahead.

this will be a great day and as we have seen with the weather of the last few days will most likely be cold. lets all get to AWD in a steady manner with no reason for fast driving to get to the start point. Please be there at 0900hrs or thereabouts so that myself and your group leaders can give you a quick overview brief of what to expect and what to do throughout the run.

As John S mentioned before in a very good thread...adhering to the speed limit, especially in and around villages is paramount. locals will notice a large volume of performance cars rumbling through their hood!! if you become stuck behind a ford fiesta and fear you will get left behind you wont so dont panic and overtake jeapordising your or their safety for no reason.

wait for your group mates at junctions, ie slow down so he/she can see what way the group is going. feel free to use your hazard lights coming into a danger area or obstacle on the road to alert the car behind and so on. if you see this happening please do the same. dont assume the car behind saw mrX ahead of you.

When overtaking get back in pronto and dont sit out wide to show the road clear to the car behind you. its been proven that this is more of a confusing gesture than helpful.

Group leaders and the organisers cant be held responsible for everyone, we can simply do everything to make sure were all happy and safe. the route is safe, the pace will be, the location is set, we know whos is our groups and we know we need to have a FULL tank at AWD (not 2/3 or...FULL).

AGAIN, THANKS FOR COMING AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL ON SUNDAY AFTER WE ALL DRIVE THERE AT A STEADY PACE FOR 0900HRS

just to add some practical (female face-icon-small-smile.gif) details to Chris's post re driving:

- bring your own lunch / flasks. there will be rest stops during the day and we will be stopping at Glenshee for the photoshoot.

As most will have had an early start, we will be having lunch here. We will not be passing any shops/burgers vans so bring your own lunch/snacks/coffee.

- wrap up well. it will be very cold in some places and it will be a shame if we didnt get a chance to speak to each other during the stops because we are all freezing. Bring plenty of warm clothing, fleeces, scarves, gloves etc

- bring spare batteries for camcorders/digital cameras. there is an awesome turnout of scoobs and the route is quite scenic in some places. HOWEVER, please do not do anything silly in order to get that perfect shot (hang out the window when travelling, run across busy roads etc)

- check your cars are ready for the journey (oil, tyres etc).

- set the alarm in the morning to give yourself enough time to defrost your car and get to your local RV point on time.

see you all tomorrow face-icon-small-happy.gif
