irish al Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Has anyone got 225/40/18 rims/tyres fitted to thier car with tein s type springs. Its for my 03 wrx and just want to make sure they will fit ok. Standard size is 215/45/17 and was recommended to fit 215/40/18. Just fancied the wider tyre. Any suggestions/comments ? Cheers, Alan
gus the bus Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Al, think you might get a wee bit of outer arch rubbing with that width of tyre especially on the rear. Also, may depend on the offset of wheel you are fitting too. Gus
oobster Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Al - i've got 225/45/18's on mine. Not got the Tein springs fitted, but i do have prodrive lowered springs and the tyres don't rub at all, even when it bottoms out over bumps/dips.
fai17 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 With the correct offset on the wheels then 225/40/18 will go straight on ...no probs
