the squiggle
You cannot remap the actual ECU but you can fit another chip to the motherboard and the ECU will read from the information from the new chip From 93 - 96 Subaru very kindly designed a spare socket on the motherboard. This was primarily used for Grp N rally cars but can be used to fit a EPROM chip that contains another map Most common is the ScoobyECU which is a generic chip that adjusts the fuelling and ignition map to accept UK fuel grade a lot better, ups the boost to 1.1bar and gets rid of the 180kmh limter It is from 1999 that the ECU can be reflashed with new operating perameters Be worth taking the case of your ECU to see if there is any kind of chip soldered in place Another thing i found out is your exhaust's an early Apexi N1, hence the badge on dash Grant Link to comment

the squiggle
The new chip would solder into the socket on the top left of your picture. The chip IanJ has for sale would be ideal but i believe you would have to decat the downpipe to get the biggest gain from fitting it Grant Link to comment
