RS Grant Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 We are currently looking for a replacement for the Audi A4 and have been considering a 330d Coupe.. Having been to Dundee, Perth and one of the Glasgow Dealerships we are considering going to Edinburgh and Aberdeen as well. IIRC there is someone that works for BMW or knows someone that works for BMW on this forum, so could they possibly give me an idea about which Edinburgh/Aberdeen Dealer might be worth a visit. We're not fussy but we will insist on the following: the highest spec, lowest mileage, best priced 330d Coupe around...... with a very pleasing trade-in price for our Audi. As it goes, Henry Bros. in Glasgow have given us by far and away the best deal. Cheers, Grant
oobster Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Spooks is a mechanic for BMW in edinburgh (i think)
fai17 Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 I find it best to do the deal over the phone because if they can't match the deal you just hang up. Do the search over the net then call the garage with the car you are interested in. Good luck with the search. One of my good customer works in Harry Fairbairn in Giffnock.I bought my Mini there and gave me good deal and service
spooks Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Grant you will have a PM in a few seconds Spooks
RS Grant Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 Thanks guys and thanks to Scott for all the info. Cheers, Grant
andy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Remember if you go down the Beemer route, it's obligatory to drive with your front foglights on. It looks cool or something (Sorry - pet hate of mine and Beemer drivers are the worst closely followed by Peugeot drivers.)
Gumball Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 and sit in front of very fast subarus in the outside lane cos you have a beemer and apparently have acheived something substantial in your exsistance?? ***WARNING**** THE BLUE LETTERBOX SHAPED THING ON THE BONNET BEHIND YOU MEANS GET OUT THE WAY YOU HOM !!! This isnt aimed at you i just find them very arrogant. even more so than me i reckon
col666 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Grant, My old man bought a new 3.0 BMW Z4 from Eastern in Edinburgh at the end of last year and the service he got was shocking. RS Grant Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 Thanks Robin, we were certainly extremely impressed with the 330d we drove in Glasgow. I will drop you a mail tomorrow at some point for a bit more information, Re: Dealership, Ownership & Mods!! But come on mate, a better all-rounder than a Scoob, are you sure...... this is SIDC?! Cheers, Grant
RS Grant Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 Thankyou for the input Col, I've heard mixed reports about pretty much every garage I've mentioned... I guess its all down to personal experiences, as we've been treated like 2nd class citizens in a couple of dealers that are meant to be really helpful and have had good contact from dealers where peeps have had problems. I suppose we'll get a feel for the place ourselves, but thanks for the input. Cheers, Grant
robinh20mrv Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 its a superb car m8, beats the scoob hands down.........await flaming!! very different but superb!! look forward to hearing from you, sooner rather than later as i may be offshore soon!!! eastern and alex mcleoud could not have treated me better, i went to merc first and they totaly took the piss so off i went to bmw (and i am so glad i did)!!!! cheers robin.
