Guys,

Evo magazine has details of a GT4 competition in the latest issue (Nov 2005).

All you have to do is load up GT and head over to the Licence section, you are looking for licence test 7 in the International A licence.

Its an RUF Yellowbird around a section of Trial Mountain, post your fastest time and send proof (screen shot for example) to the following e-mail address: eds@evo.co.uk.

Anyone up for doing an SIDC version ? It would be fairer than the last one we ran.....Post piccies up with fastest time but for authenticity ( incase any cheeky blighter pinches a screen grab from elsewhere in an effort to drive The Squirrel into insomnia ) you'll need to put red tick in the corner of the jpeg ( right click and edit via Paintbrush) to prove it yours face-icon-small-wink.gif

This thread will no doubt die but what the hey !

I'd be up for this. A games forum I used to hang about on ran a weekly competition on GT4 prologue. My favourite in that one was piloting the Spoon Fit car round the wee Italian hillside Village.

I have some pedigree with these things - I was Glasgow heat champion of the Xbox 10K challenge in 2004 when they used Project Gotham 2 for the qualifiers, and I was world record holder on some of the Edinburgh tracks for a period too. And held the fastest non-TVR lap on the nurburgring for 4 months.

I too had seen the GT4 Comp in this months Evo. So after a morning getting used to playing again - note I was using a control pad no fancy wheels for me - I got this time. How does it fair with everyone else??????

Come on guys and gals get your screenshots up.

I've just remembered - my cousin borrowed GT4 and snapped the disc in half and he's not given me a replacement yet.

I'll try and pick one up this week and send him the bill.

I've got a Logitech wheel that I might need to whip out for this if we're getting serious.

What about if we meet up in some secret location(like ma hoose 42" plsma on wall) and play some GT4 for a laugh.

My wee boy of only 5years old is brill at it.face-icon-small-wink.gif

We on FTO OC also had a compo to see who could do best time round Nurburg in an FTO then in any car - got some impressive times iirc. Definitely have to try this Evo one tho face-icon-small-smile.gif That RuF is a fecker to handle tho - hehe.

I also have the DFP - proper GT4 one (boxed and not used much) face-icon-small-smile.gif Never get a chance to play these days - any spare time is spent playing Everquest 2 or looking after my daughter!!

For Sale if anyone wants it face-icon-small-wink.gif - Also got GT4 and an unchipped PS2 to go too! Gotta clear my games room as we have another baby due in January.

God damn ! It fired up GT4 last night and realised I still need to get through two full licenses phases before I can do this face-icon-small-sad.gif

Must try harder ! I'm a firm believer that these games help real life car control face-icon-small-wink.gif

Well done clut fav ! Expect the Squirrel to horse that time though face-icon-small-confused.gif

I must invest in a decent wheels and punt the Madcatz sneider !

Bring it on gentlemen

p.s how daft am I ( i was hungover !) Just realised that anyone could put a red tick on ANY photo. Not doubting Dave's screen grab but in future put your a "thumbs up" in the piccy face-icon-small-wink.gif i.e place your mitt just to the side of the time face-icon-small-wink.gif

Now with thumbs up - I have got to stop playing this game and get on with some bloomin work...............

I am getting better though - next step a steering wheel instead of the control pad.

drifting that porker is some job like!!!

give me a wee while and we should see some high 32`s!!! just trying to get a good line and breaking point for the chicane!!

wots the best scores on the evo mag???

this is so hard!!! 33.261. just cant get the chicane good and get too much wheelspin out of last corner!!!

anyway practice makes perfect!!

go rite down the kerb, brake hard at the last sign (braking distance), let off the brake and because there is a compression in the track it puts the car into a slide, control it with power and brake and you should get fired out the corner in a straight line!!

this is an easyish bit of track but when u get down to the low 33`s it becomes very hard to improve!!!
