Croc Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 anone got a spare Potenxa RE070 225 45 r17? - preferrably new or nearly new just found out I have a ruddy great screw in one of my almost new Potenza's. Extra annoying cause it only has maybe 2000 miles on the clock. Don't know yet if it will need replaced, or can be fixed, but it is certainly going flat - down to 4 psi when I found it. (obviously got REALLY strong walls, cause it only looked a little down, as opposed to being a pancake) So, anyone wanting rid of one? - (maybe two, so I have another spare) I'll get by in meantime on one of the old tyres from previous set of wheels. I'll look like a prime twat for a while with one gold wheel though... can contact me on 07715 500 101. I'm in Aberdeen anyone?
imprezapete Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Where was the screw in the tyre? It should be repairable as long as its not near the side wall. Take it down to your local garage m8.
Croc Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 thanks - it's at least an inch from the rim - so maybe saveable. p
johns Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Ouch! If it's only about an inch from the sidewall, then chances are they won't be able to repair it as there will be too much flexing. I think it has to be in the centre 3/4 of the tread before they can safely repair it. I don't know anyone with new or nearly new ones sitting in their garage - I think Jools has a set, but they are mounted on pink alloys. These were for sale a while back so might have been sold ? I'm actually going to swap my wheels tyres for the F1s for the winter/wet season. John
dark Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I have 2x worn RE070's available. One has approx 4mm tread and is quite evenly worn. One has approx 3mm tread but is looking a bit sad with more wear on the shoulder. Mark
Croc Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 they fixed it ! 10 quid and hopefully sorted. Said they just pluged it, so no tyre needed. (not until I get my winter shoes on anyway) thanks for the input on this though.... p
