simboy Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 OK Scoobsters, i need info on buying the correct Dump Valve for my 98.5MY Classic.. I know everyone gets them fitted for the sound, and why not !!! So whats the difference between the valve from 93> onwards to 98/99 and from 98/99 onwards.. Oh and are "Nobles" gonna say it will Nil 'n' Void my Subaru Warranty having one fitted ?..... Any info greatly appreciated. (does anyone have a cheap zorst and dump valve up for grabs) Hi all, the update, just found out the cars a 98 and not a 99 as the subaru garage told me and as the chassis plate states.. So it's a 98.5MY. So Dave kindly met me to supply and fit a forge d.valve and to his astonishment "and my embarrassment" his one didn't fit due to my lack of Scooby knowledge.. And Dave as i found out is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the motors in comparison to me.. So - anyone got a nice easy to fit Dump Valve for a 98 Turbo.. Mind, i'm Scottish and Tight.. So keep it cheap.. I also stay in Penicuik incase it's easy for a meet. Cheers for reading. Simon.
RS Grant Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 The Pre MY99 Dumpvalves require pipework to fit, whereas the MY99/00 models have dump valves that bolt directly to the intercooler. I have got a Prodrive Backbox from my old MY99 Turbo mate... Its not shiny and new and its only a 3.5" or 4" pipe but it still sounds very nice, subtle at low revs, but gives a decent rip at high revs. Cheers, Grant
drb5 Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 And i have a MY99 Forge atmospheric dump valve for sale too! £40 delivered if you want?
drb5 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Emailed you. Delivery and fitting is included in the price above, then.
swanie Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Hi Simon I would recommend a turbosmart dumpvalve as these are far better products than the rest on the market and they offer a large range from dual port to re-curc , single and double trumpet outlets Fully adjustable buy screwing the top in Silver and blue or the new sleeper series in black you will need a fitting kit as well for the 99/00 impreza i hope this helps
simboy Posted October 9, 2005 Author Posted October 9, 2005 Hi Dave, cheers for meeting and what a real shame about the D.Valve.. Thanks for updating me that the car i bought wasn't infact a 99 but a bloody 98.5.. You've no idea how much i wanted that to fit this afternoon.. Many Thanks Again for trudging all the way to the the Harthill Services... Oh - and nice car..!!! Very sweet.. Simon
drb5 Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Lol, no worries Simon. I may as well get me finger oot and try and sell the thing, elsewhere now.
