Nelsdir Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Standard discs on my classic 4-pots are warped so need replacing ASAP. Anyone tried DBA 4000's? If so - what pads - DS2500/Mintex 1144/55 ? Cheers, Neil
WUZ Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I have fitted DBA4000's with DS2500 to a customers car and I felt, for the money, that it was a good conbination using the OE 4-pots Russell
johns Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I'm running DBA4000 with DS2500 pads on my STI/Brembo brakes. No issues at all, and much cheaper than OEM. John
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 John - who supplied your discs and pads ( & assoc. costs if you don't mind me asking ? Just clocked this bit on their website "IMPORTANT NOTICE: Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for street use only and not for racing or track applications. " I'd like something that will cover everyday use, fast road and track application ? I note there are two types namely :- 4000 XS & 40006x6 Any advise - my brakes are SO bad at the moment Thanks Cal
WUZ Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Cross-drilled rotors will crack around the holes with prolonged track use especially in a heavier car (read 4WD Scooby!) but so far they have been OK. It depends how brutal you are on the brakes. Cal - I am sure DBA do a grooved only disk? If not, Ian at Godspeed can supply me grooved disks for your car in a 1 peice or 2 peice design for sensible money! Russell

~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like i need to assess whether it's worth changing the discs or just the pads alone. I'll be lucky if I do track days twice a year now so maybe it's not worth it Cheers Cal
