Got some stuff fitted today......

As above, car went into S&S today to have the prodrive springs fitted.

Haven't had much chance to check them out yet, just the drive home from work & that is mostly motorway. Definitely feels stiffer though, but not uncomfortable. Ride height is only very slightly lower, but apprently these can take a few weeks to settle in so it might get a bit lower in time.

Also bought a 2nd-hand Bailey DV12 VTA dump valve off eBay for a ridiclously small amount (£50) two weeks ago. It arrived today, so i fitted it when i got home from work (5 minute job). I have to say i'm fairly confident that this "mod" isnt going to stay on the car. Took it for a quick run and i'm not liking the noise one little bit!! (And before all the clued-up guys start telling me all about the downsided to a DV - i know. I've read all about the over-fuelling causing bore-wash which thins out the oil etc. If it stays on the car it will get an oil & filter change every 3,300 miles in between the 10K Subaru ones).

No more mods planned. Mrs will have me killed if i spend anymore.

oobster, one more bit of spend for the year is definetly geometery setup properly. My car feels ridiculously better on the motorway. WELL worth it.

I'll be interested to see how much the car settles as I'm still considering the springs as a future mod.

The dealer put the standard setting on the car when they were re-setting the geometry, didn't want to go with the prodrive ones.

However, i'm not entirely sure they are experts at doing this, so i might head over to progrip after I come back my hols.

I think Bing got one of those DV's fitted to the wrx a couple of weeks ago.

it seems to chchchchchcatter rather than PSSSST?? maybe look at turbo XS (if they still do them) or HKS, or Forge was good last time.

hope that helps

Hi Oobster

You were spotted on friday at 3.50pm trying out the new set up then.

The round about that takes you to waterfoot egalesham and onto EK. You were on the way to Ek and not holding back face-icon-small-wink.gif

Cheers Dougie

I'll probably mention it next time im on the phone to them but getting the car collected isn't going to be happening again.

Here's hoping he wasn't caught speeding in it, coz that could be interesting trying to prove it wasnt me that was driving.

Spoke to the person concerned this morning and i'm happy with his explanation. Also happy with the work carried out by S&S & would highly recommend them to anyone else wanting work done on their Subaru.
