fai17 Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I guess my car is putting about 330bhp. Its running a full 3"decat,APS CAI,Bosche fuel pump and GEMS ECU. I'm getting a Gruppe S Headers and Helix up pipe soon and another remap. So do you think i should get the Samco boost pipe kit? Thanks Marc
Boyakasha Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Definately. PS I have a nice knocklink setup for sale at the mo, Ricey was supposed to be after it but not heard back from him. Marc
Iaing Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Mark, I'd be up for the knocklink if no-one else has asked for it. Iain
jamie_wood Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Iain, The car was sounding good the other day Cant go into Abz without seeing your car!!Whats that all about
Iaing Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Hi Jamie, cheers. She's just been fully de-catted. Ha ha, I know, you stalking me How did the dunking go? Iain
jamie_wood Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Dunkin' was fine apart from the damage to my ear drum. Ended up at the emergency doctor in the Hospital Cool 4 catz now though Only went in work for a few hours on Sat morning so me and Ally went into Abz for some shopping/eating & drinking Couldnt belive how many exotic cars we saw!! Nobel, Porsches, loads o scoobs and Evos plus the little Max power guys with their sorted saxos Catch up soon for that Curry and a pint that John S was thinking of doing in the coming weeks
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 My samco hoses is coming via courier tommorow so if I have the equivalent of WRX PPP power by luncthime Wednesday I'll be well chuffed. If i get STi power then even better but i can't see me breaking 260bhp. We'll see what happens..........it's an expensive journey !
jamie_wood Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Gimme a bell if you want me to stand and watch as you fit them matey
Bing Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Looking forward to it already Cal! Continuing the subject - Im swithering over 2 final issues prior to my remap! 1) Whether or not to recirculate my HKS SSQV dump valve? 2) Whether or not to map with Millers octane booster? Anyone out there have any experience of this or suggestions?
jamie_wood Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Mine is mapped for Optimax and ocatane booster Only costs a couple of extra quid every time you fill up. And as for the dump valve...would never run a VTA valve. I dont run a dump valve at all just now. Its blanked off
Bing Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Ah So whats the deal if the car is mapped for octane booster but for some reason you run a tank or two on optimax only?
fai17 Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 << Ah So whats the deal if the car is mapped for octane booster but for some reason you run a tank or two on optimax only? >> I personally would map it with optimax only as i can be bothered with booster. Its different if you have no choice but to put booster like some import classics. I hope that helps.
WUZ Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Bing - you can opt for the dual map using the ECUTek system. Use one on 1.1 bar with Optimax only and set the other up for 1.4 bar on OB + Optimax. Andy knows how to do it and that was you'll have a nippy day-to-day car and then a b-road monster that spits flames Russell ( HOME IN 30 DAYS!)
Bing Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Now youre talking Russ! Would I therefore have to go ready with OB in the tank or does he map that seperately?
WUZ Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Hell probably map the car with OB and reduce the advance by a couple of degrees (or vice versa) to compensate for no OB. Mail Andy and he will suggest the best option for you, he knows what he is doing so ask th emaster! I've Pm'ed you anyway but it'll be best to just map the car without OB and run OB when you use it on track days, etc when the charge temps get higher and risk of Det increases! Russell
Bing Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Gotcha, thats what Ill do! Every day is a school day
Iaing Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Cal, you got those hoses on yet? If so, notice any difference in power at all? Iain
