Gumball Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 HI went to Pro-Grip in Bonnybridge this evening to get the geometry settings redone after my hedge hopping experience last month or whatever. John, i think he was called did a great job and aslo explained how it all worked, the relation between having mean looking negative camber wheels and tyre wear etc. got the prodrive setup today again for £47 and hey presto, the car goes in a straight line. off boost still but it goes straight. highly recommend this place if you live in the glasgow, stirling, falkirk area.knows his stuff, top bloke
fai17 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Its good to hear you've got it set up m8. Stay on the black stuff
Bing Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Chris, What do you mean by geometry settings done? Do you mean wheel alignment checks? Excuse my ignorance
sma01 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 glad to hear geometry is sorted mate, john set up my car and it is superb, although think i need my nsf wheel balanced again so will have to pay him another visit. scott
fai17 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 << Chris, What do you mean by geometry settings done? Do you mean wheel alignment checks? Excuse my ignorance >> Aye its the same thing
Gumball Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 just a technical term for the same thing really. KWIK FIT= waant yer tracking done big man??? crap Pro-Grip= computarised setting up of your wheels. ie, they now point inwards at the top (negative camber) to reduce the chances of sliding away/crashing rather than pointing out (positive camber). they set all the wheels angles in degrees using hitech computers. standard.............prodrive.................hill climb............ you choose the settings you want depending on your driving style. stops the car tracking more than usual left or right etc. does that help????
st3ph3n Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Just waiting for Duncan to phone with a date for my brakes + droplinks, and it'll be going into progrip that day too.
ozzy Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 A few questions if you don't mind. Did you just have the camber and toe set? Did they give you a before/after printout showing the margin of error? How long did it all take? Stefan
Gumball Posted August 24, 2005 Author Posted August 24, 2005 Stefan it took about 60 mins to get it done. there is a printout on completion that gives you the following- camber- prodrive 1.10* each side toe- 0.05* each side he managed to get it to match up perfectly which seemed very hard to do. the printout also shows you where your settings were before he started. for instance if i like the settings that are in place now, then i can ask for the EXACT angles next time
