tino Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 Anyone know of a good auto electrician in the west/east Lothian area. Having the old problem of rapid battery draining. New battery dead within a couple of weeks. Looking for someone with car alarm, imobiliser and tracker experience as these have been suspects in other cases. Thanks

CAZ1562 Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 Hi Martin, I might have the dude's number that fitted my tracker. If not speak with Gregor, I gave him the number when he got his wagon. PS - How's the car going (except for the battery issue)
tino Posted August 10, 2005 Author Posted August 10, 2005 Thanks for the info. I've got a 2001 Bugeye WRX in blue.

tino Posted August 10, 2005 Author Posted August 10, 2005 Derek, hi mate long time no see! Cars going great since the valve issue was sorted. Does exactly what it says on the tin if you know what I mean
tino Posted August 11, 2005 Author Posted August 11, 2005 For future reference had a chat with these guys http://www.auto-security.net/contact.htm Came highly recomended by a couple of friend at work. (not forgetting thanks to oobster for his reply ) My battery went flat in about 2 weeks, it turns out that with the battery drain of a CAT 1 alarm and a Tracker this is not unusual. Not sure about the calculations but CAT 1 alarm @ 150-200mA Tracker @ 100-150mA Battery @ 65-75A Drains in about 10-14 days Think I'll buy a second battery and swap it every week whilst I'm not using the car.
st3ph3n Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Tino, good to know that. If I'm ever away on Holiday and it doesn't fire up I'll know the first thing to check.
