Chrismaz5 Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Never miss an opportunity eh!! Luckily mines working great at the moment, but if it wasn't I'd certainly be gratefull for a re-gas in this weather.
blue boy Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 You shouldn't need a regas unless there's a leak then that needs sorting first.
Julian WRX MY93 Posted July 13, 2005 Author Posted July 13, 2005 << Never miss an opportunity eh!! >> you got to get them while they are all together!!!!!!!!!!
*Andy* Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 << You shouldn't need a regas unless there's a leak then that needs sorting first. >> Thats not strictly true I had mine regassed twice but have not had a fault. If the system is not used for a while you tend to loose some of the gas via the seals, 134a is particularily searching in this respect. Andy

rasher Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Bob I spoke to Peter from Prosport today he might be attending the meeting

Basically they are fridges ask yourself how may times you have had your fridge or freezer re gassed!

Although fridge systems are known also known as heat pumps they don't actually use pumps. The four main components of a system are; compressor, condenser, let down valve and evaporator. Andy
blue boy Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Exactly Andy still unlikely to get a leak or is leek? Suppose it depends if you are welsh!
blue boy Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 << The four main components of a system are; compressor, condenser, let down valve and evaporator. >> Thermostat???
Julian WRX MY93 Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 i'll bring the kit along if i have it.........
blue boy Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Have a word with Prosport Pete J perhaps you can arrange to do regassing work for him.
Julian WRX MY93 Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 << Have a word with Prosport Pete J perhaps you can arrange to do regassing work for him. >> that means suppling invoices etc etc....................... not a good thing!!!
*Andy* Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 << << The four main components of a system are; compressor, condenser, let down valve and evaporator. >> Thermostat??? >> I did say "main" components, a stat after all is only a measuring device forming part of the control circuit. Anyway didn't want to go into to much detail before I get called a sado. Andy
*Andy* Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 << Exactly Andy still unlikely to get a leak or is leek? We go to great lengths to try and prevent loss off refrigerents from our fridge systems to ensure compliance. 134a or Tetrafluoroethane to give its non trade name, will actually permeate through some materials without having a physical leak. Andy

*Andy* Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 [q go Andy the engerneer!!!!!!! >> Thats an "engerneer" with First Class Honours, I graduated on Monday, it was flippin hot with that cap and gown on! But not as hot as I was on Saturday night, went to a fancy dress, as "the only gay in the village" in red PVC shorts, top and calf length black leather boots! ZippyEFC Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Andy i guess you know what Polytetrafluoroethane is then
*Andy* Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 << Andy i guess you know what Polytetrafluoroethane is then >> PTFE, funnily enough I worked on the plant that produces the raw material from which it is made. Andy
