wrxmania Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Hi all, Noticed in the back of this week's Auto Express that there will be an "unmissable" buyers guide to the Subaru Impreza next week - comes out on Wednesday. Also, elsewhere in the magazine - the Subaru Impreza is rated as the third most desireable car - behind the Porsche 911 and the MR2 as tops (based upon internet searches). ALSO - SPOTTED LAST NIGHT - OOBSTER (I was in the black Primera GT - I 'flashed' you) - M8 Eastbound travelling at XXX speed I was on my way back from the Chuck Berry concert at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall - he did not show up, after the support band played, his band were there ready and the place was full - announced it was cancelled at 9:50PM - the concert hall are NOT happy!! Some of the audience were RAGING... Also, here is my car being taken away on a transporter this morning by A F Nobles... For a 30,000 mile service - only And here is a nice view out of my window from a run a while back Brian
oobster Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Didn't even see you Brian, wasn't paying attention Did you reply to the Q. i asked on the "what pads" thread? Just came into my head 1 second ago, so I haven't looked. I was wondering if the Pagid pads u use are quite dusty? Must buy Auto Express next week then
wrxmania Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 Pagids not any dustier IMHO than the standard Subaru pads - Goodridge Stainles Brake lines and Motul 5.1 fluid was fitted to mine at the same time. The pads are Pagid RS 4.2.1 and are very good. A S Performance, rally specialists, said they just had the edge on Ferrodo DS2500 and were their pad of choice for a road car, and work well with standard discs. You passed me at Junction 10 /Junction 9 Eastbound last night. Did not hear you though - you need to get a new exhaust!!! Brian
oobster Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 LOL...... any ideas where i might get a new exhaust Brian?
wrxmania Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 What about Meercat in Kilbirnie - can't think of anywhere else
wrxmania Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 Car is back and running beautifully!!! 30,000 mile service - lots of things done (diff oil, gearbox oil, all filters including fuel, oil and air, spark plugs, brake service front and rear, oil change Shell Helix Ultra plus all the usual multitude of checks), picked up from my house 35 miles from the garage and delivered back to me in one day @ no charge - total cost was £343. WARNING - Avoid "Spincaps" (anti-theft valve caps) - all of mine had seized recently in spite of them being lubricated. I had to get the valves broken and replaced - luckily none of the beads exploded on the tyres - a real surprise...all in my humble opinion of course BIG THANKS to Jim @ Extreme Motorsport in Whitburn (Swifts) - a superb on the spot job, for an unbeatable price. Newly renovated premises - about to be expanded further for customers. ALSO - Extreme/Swifts will now be autorized retailers and fitters for Whitleline products and Exedy clutches - they are waiting on their first batch of stock. Get yourselves down there. Subaru and Mitsubishi specialists - thei EVO is running 450+ BHP and MUCH more is planned. Brian
wrxmania Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 Thanks to A F Nobles Subaru, Penicuik for the service BTW - efficient and personal as ever.
wrxmania Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 Meant to add - the service included a battery for my alarm keyfob and a coolant change too
st3ph3n Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Will Extreme be doing whiteline droplinks + fitting then? Might be tempted.
wrxmania Posted July 7, 2005 Author Posted July 7, 2005 Yes, they'll be stocking and fitting (of course) the full range - they are waiting on their first shipment
