fai17 Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I am considering fitting a S/S headers on.I think its GT Spec. What do yous think? Is it good? Do you gain in performance? What does it sound like? Is it worth it,about £600 fitted. Thanks for any info given..
jamie_wood Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 If they are semi length they will sound like mine. Still has a flat four sound-not as much as theb std headers but not bad. If they are equal length they will sound more like a rally car-no flat 4 sound and more like a cosworth or Evo Worth fitting since your getting all the other goodies fitted too
Johnny50 Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I fitted HKS equal headers on my 98 scoob. Sounded superb. I also had Gems, and noticed a difference before fitting, and after remap with them on.

coulty Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I have a nice set of equal length headers that sound like andy's car for sale if you are interested. Stuart
scuba dou Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Make sure the headers have 3 bolt flanges and not the early two bolt flange; they were prone to gasket failure regardless of OEM . RCM sell headers that are well proven on big horse power cars; that to me is worth the wee bit of extra dosh you may have to spend, compared to fitting less capable headers and then having to service/repair blown and leaking gaskets?
