Anyone had a Wallace Performance Remap?

Recommended Posts

Thinking about getting this done in the next few months or so and have a few questions....

I was wondering what to expect performance wise?

Is it safe to do or will it damage the engine? Will the car remain reliable?

More importantly is it worth the moolah?

Car is a MY02 wrx.

Oh and mods wise i will have had the full de-cat treatment and replacement panel filter

Andy is away until the 17th so check out the web or send me a pm and i will give you his no.

I have heard good things about that bloke, I was just enquiring about Wallace as if they are equally as good then it makes sense to go there rather than travel.

How much did you pay for it? What sort of bhp/torque are you getting?

Nice to see you all answering the guys question face-icon-small-confused.gif

You will find that wallace performance have mapped at least as many cars as Mr Forrest, with similar results. I am sure Andy himself wouldn't argue with that.

Also all mapping at wallace perf. is done on a state of the art dyno. Not many privateer mappers can say that.

And yes, of course it is worth it!

Oh, btw, thanks Russell face-icon-small-blush.gif

I would actually !

I have been mapping Subarus for over 4 years now and have had the fastest Subarus in the UK for over 3 of those years. My own cars have been continually in development, testing parts and settings for optimum output and reliability. I don't believe in experimenting on customers cars.

I only map Subarus, nothing else. My full time occupation is mapping Subarus.

To summarise, I doubt if WP have mapped close to 10% of the cars I have and they certainly have not achieved the same results !

You could always call an independant Subaru specialist such as AWD Motorsport Engineering in Perth and ask their opinion, they have experience of both.

Hey guys well, this thread isnt about who's the better mapper.

I know there are many places that can offer equally as good service as WP. I just wanted to hear from guys who have had a WP remap or any other mapper for that matter as I know very little on this subject.

Cheers

Russell - I never said that Gavin and yourself were not good at what you do, I just feel that on tuned Imprezas, Andy has a proven history and has "cut his teeth" on these types of cars for a long time and can get fantastic results! FOR GOD'S SAKE, THE GUY RUNS A 550hp STi 5!

Mapping on a R/R does not mean that it is done better..........Shall we call Bob in Swindon and ask him? or Pat in Essex? or AndyF? or Paul? or me?

Both Gavin and Andy have mapped EcuTek and Power FC equipped cars for my customers and myself in the past and both have mapped the cars safely.

If you have a fairly standard car (decat, D/V, filter, fuel pump), live in Aberdeen and want an EcuTek map done locally then Gavin and Wallace Performance are capable of giving you good figures on your car from one of their EcuTek remaps.

Andy get my vote for the Power FC stuff!

Best option is to speak to previous customers of WP (both AWD Motorsport and private customers) and get their views and make an applicable decision yourself!

Sorry, I rather jumped in there, didn't I face-icon-small-blush.gif

I was just slightly perturbed that, as I said, no-one answered the question. It is clear in the post title.

Wuz, thank you, that was a civilised and mostly fair response, sorry for singling you out.

Andy, where did I question your ability in my post?

Besides, I would have to be mad to try that on here!face-icon-small-tongue.gif

As for number of cars, to have mapped 10 times as many then you mustn't have slept much for a few years face-icon-small-wink.gif

The post is about a fairly modestly tuned car. I am sure you wouldn't claim to make 550bhp out of that one.

Point exagerated, but I'm sure you understand what I mean. Horses for courses.

We are not talking miracle work here.

Hopefully you have an answer Iain. Both parties appear to be perfectly capable of providing what you want.

Isn't that what I said in my 1st post? face-icon-small-wink.gifface-icon-small-smile.gif

Btw, why do AWD keep coming up in this?

Russ, i think the guys are saying, phone around and get opinions to satisfie yourself, AWD MOTORSPORT is one of these places you can call for some advice as they are an independant subaru specialist
