Johnny50 Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 But will the drive up be as entertaining as last year !!
Stiks Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 The pop bang BK flamer job is the stuff of legends in our house. Must have caused a few Cardiac's in the sleepy villages, as the old boys went out for their paper & rolls Oh and spooks - you can all share a happy meal, so long as I get the toy! keith
Johnny50 Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Wonder if i can get Anti-kag fitted to the Civc for this year then ??
teknopete Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Nice 1 John, C`mon peebs lets get behind this, it`s a screem. I didn`t believe the scoob would fit around that wee track last year, but hey it does If u wanted to find out the advantage of your RA or STi gearbox this is the track to do it on. The crack is always good up there no matter how the weater is. BTW does anybod have an mpeg or jus pix of "big red" from the last one? Preferably before i did a detour onto the grass ) If u do any chance of mailing them to me? Current addy is as per profile. John. I`ll mail u direct re the event bud. From memory its a fair drive up so if we`re doin a meet en-route we`ll need 2 b pretty early 4 track spaces folks. Lets start bouncing times about then eh? What bout Tayside members meet at at Mcduhs in Forfar, as its en-route ? Bout what 08:00 ? Feedback doodz eh ? Cheerz Pete
martinl Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 S__T!!! I'll miss it . I'll be on my charity motorbike run to Poland. May be you could have a collection tin at the gate for Cancer Research. Martin
johns Posted June 7, 2005 Author Posted June 7, 2005 Martin, sorry you won't be able to make it along. We'll be collecting money for Northsound Radio's Cash for Kids charity on the day, both in terms of donations and passenger laps around the track. John
martinl Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Thats OK John, also a very good cause. Just thought I'd ask though. Hope you get the weather. Oh and I get home from work on the 14th June, just missing Knockhill, again. Cheers Martin
Rob_D Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 John, Are there other car clubs turning up for displaying etc? I've a couple of PMR440 radios like we used last year and if people can bring some more along we would be covered. Do we have the PA organised? Rob.
johns Posted June 10, 2005 Author Posted June 10, 2005 Hi Rob, sounds good. Not got the PA sorted yet, but wasn't expecting that to be a major problem. Still trying to find timing equipment for the event. Other car clubs more than welcome John
stephen_cheyne Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 John, I've spoken to Graham about slide for Alford but he hasn't got back to me yet. I'll chase him up on Monday. Stephen
johns Posted June 16, 2005 Author Posted June 16, 2005 David, we may well do that. I'm planning to produce a single page flyer to be handed out this year. It took us a long time and lots of hassle to do the multi-page ones last year. Advertsiign space will be limited, but it is available if you have anyone in mind. So far we are struggling to get any suppliers along on the day!!! It may just be the show and shine competition track time, plus other bits and pieces. It will still be a good day out though! Cheers John
johns Posted June 22, 2005 Author Posted June 22, 2005 Just a reminder for everyone that this event is happening this Sunday at Alford. We're looking for a superb turn-out of cars, both from the local area and from across the country We've got some superb trophies for the show and shine competition on their way up in the post. Track action on most of the day as well, for those who want to try their car on track (one at a time, so very little risk). See you all there. John
johns Posted June 22, 2005 Author Posted June 22, 2005 Just had confirmation that the Grampian Police Impreza will be there for a while on the day, and the PC will be happy to talk about the car, road safety, advanced driving etc. We're also going to be getting coverage by the local radio station (Northsound 1 & 2), so there's a chance to be famous by taking some of the reporters out in your car around the track if you want. Best brush up on your interview skills! We've also had confirmation that Glenburgie Subaru will have a stand on the day, and will have various bits and pieces for sale. If you need any advice on modified your car, buying 2nd hand/used parts or even building a rally Impreza then please have a chat with them during the day John

Hopefully breakfast will be cheaper here than it was at little chef near the ayrshire motor show in louden last sun. £17.98 for three bacon rolls, two teas and one orange, she didnt get a tip.
GrantyBoy Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 << What time are you leaving for this cal? You heading from Aberdeen or further south? Any other folks from Aberdeen going?
