jacqui_robb Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Just seen the TVR posts. I wasnt on the morning run, but the driving standards i saw in the afternoon were excellent. Was actually pretty impressed with everything yesterday - from the organising thru to the driving, and in particular how it was all done as a club and without any childish bickering that had been appearing over the past couple of weeks. Everyone had a fantastic day - dont lets spoil it with the bitchin (and the TVR's were prob just jealous of our cars anyway lol!) Ignore the baiting comments - this is the SUBARU IMPREZA DRIVERS CLUB

wilky Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 << << It's a better man who walks away from a fight than the one who walks into one. To go on such a vitriolic offensive suggests you are one of the offenders the poster was talking about. I followed this thread with great interest, loved the photos, the feedback and was tempted to join the next one, but I won't do so now. It seemed like fun, but you've brought it down to a scrap even though most took the guy's thoughts on board. That's not my idea of fun. >> Thanks for that, no I wasnt an offender but if it comes to that let he who is free from sin cast the first stone. Your not coming on the next run? Why? because I stated my opinion to someone who stated thiers? Now your going to say, "Here we go again, we dont need this on Scottish Scoobies...." I have never started a fight online, and I have never posted goading people, on the contrary I have tried to solve matters on more than more occassion when its got silly. Im not going to take a huff, and I certainly wont be apopogising, I talk straight and shoot from the hip, if you want to take this further then PM me and we can talk privately. Callum W
micra_wrc Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 << gr555..........can anyone honestly say they didn't get lost at some point >> Squirrel and I didnt get lost when we left Glanfiddoch, I was on the phone to Higgy telling him where the convoy: "grant is the last car...... if you see us you have caught us up" 2 mins later i had to call him back: "we are now the 1st car. the convoy went straight on at the funny junction in Tomintoul instead of turning left" all i saw was a row of scoob headlights coming towards us! class. imy
ScoobyAndy Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 << 2 mins later i had to call him back: "we are now the 1st car. the convoy went straight on at the funny junction in Tomintoul instead of turning left" all i saw was a row of scoob headlights coming towards us! class. : >> lol i do beleive that was my fault!! i didnt see the silly wee sign!! oh well least it was only a minor detour
Gumball Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 hahahahaha As i trurned round after my 20 mile detour everyone laughed and waved. as i did a u turn at a point further on over the bridge, everyone gave me wan%&r signs LOL it was fun though. we got lost on the march run too if i remember correctly. nevr by half measures

p3dro Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 << and as for the beef over driving, poilice, nutters, WHO CARES? it takes more than one type of person to have a good party!!!! we all enjoyed the day. >> LOL Well said. Different horses for different courses an all that, I had a great day. I didn't go out to upset anyone, apologies if I did, I will be at the next one but will try and leave my hand off the handbrake. Oh yeah Chris, I was one of the ones giving you the w***er sign PMSL....
Gumball Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 oh were you????????????? right thats it. on the school pitches at lunchtime. nae blades or swords LOL it was swiggi, reading the map upside down. LOL at one point he said "TAKE THE NEXT RIGHT, 500, OVER CREST, TOWARDS DUNDEE AND MANCHESTER"
Gumball Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 NOT THAT IM VAIN............. HAS ANYONE GOT PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE OF MY STI/SIDC RALLY SUIT?
fraser_drinkwater Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 The day was a laugh, and the navigation particuarly was of a high standard, as I was told! Has anyone else, other than Davie ' CORSA' Hatrick tried navigating in a fully rally spec'd sti before. I dont think so! I must admit though there were a few technicalities. That were ironed out when we had a look at the map under normal conditions. As for the dangerous driving I didnt see any at all, but others did hence the cops were called. I thought the driving was of a high standard and enjoyed the day. As for annoying peeps on the road, we all know that the civilians involved also try holding the road to prove a point, which i dont see any posts about. And finally TVR dudes, if you like chilling then chill, dont try to cause probs else where, and if you were smoked in a less expensive car with onboard irn bru and not shammpers(Champagne) then DEAL WITH IT!!!!! ps this is injest as ive tried to be serious and it failed psmsl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pps The TVRs are a lovely car btw, v.nice to see.
ScoobyAndy Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 lol you just cant get the staff these days! time to invest in some proper navigation gear? i might have a pic of it, cant remember tho. must have a look for you.
fraser_drinkwater Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 at one point he said "TAKE THE NEXT RIGHT, 500, OVER CREST, TOWARDS DUNDEE AND MANCHESTER" HES SERIOUS BTW.... We werent there to make up the numbers, we were the rabbit in the grey hound race.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gumball Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 THE HORSE OUT OF RENTAGHOST COULD HAVE NAVIGATED BETTER LOL (SWIGGI) or I COULD HAVE UTILISED THE SKILLS OF MR CLAYPOLE. how did they get away with calling a character off kids tv MR CLAY-POLE?????????????? CRAZY DAYS
ScoobyAndy Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 << We werent there to make up the numbers, we were the rabbit in the grey hound race.!!!!!!!!!!!!! >> lol you certainly did that very well! excellent navigating and driving on both parts. Swiggi your braver than me id have been hiding under the seat somehwere. only b'cos i hate passenger seats and not being in controll
