The Admiral Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Good day today - I Love Lambos Motorfair Vid 26MB Cheers
wrxmania Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Bed time for me - just in A few hours kip and then off to KH See you guys there. Brian
wrxmania Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Good event today and the weather was not bad for KH - just baltic as usual! Nice to meet some new faces and some (very) old ones too AWARDS AS FOLLOWS: 1st prize in the "Show and Shine" goes to "The Swigg" for exceptional polishing skills (particularly the old bit of cloth polishing a couple of bits of plastic in the engine bay ). However, the Sahara desert-like dust storm added a nice powder coating not normally seen in concours events. 1st prize in the "Top Secret - My car repels dirt while everyone else's car get filthy without me doing any polishing" section goes to Del aka Scoobay. He's found more than one use for pledge! "Best parking on a flag pole stand" goes to Spooks. "SIDC car of the show" goes, I am afraid, to me - the Primera was warm after hours at Knockhill - that wins it! Nice to see so many set's of similar 19's - I feel quite unique in having Subaru wheels! Prizes will be awarded and paid for by the owners of the winning cars - choose your own prize. Brian
spooks Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Was dissapointed with the day overall, Knockhill never kept the people interested enough to justify the cost of admission. Having saying that the banter was as good as ever For all I was cold Im burnt to a crisp on my face ( same colour as me at the mo ) Good to see ya'all again Spooks
wrxmania Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 The cost of admission for me was fully justified - it was free - about the right price The day was really just a big advert for the dealers there and for Knockhill. £5 would have been enough. Nice to see the works Ferrari on track - and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang too! Although some of the cars given track time over others (eg us) were a bit poor. Was better than I expected - I also have the red forehead syndrome ! Brian
derek_robertson Posted May 9, 2005 Author Posted May 9, 2005 Hi Folks I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend at KH,met loads of new faces along with the usual crew Excellent turnout of cars for the display,7 on Saturday & 8 today. BIG THANKS to all members who made it happen The weather always seems to play a big part at KH,usually pissing down & rather chilly, for once it was mainly dry with a few light showers although it was pretty baltic both days!!!!! The banter was fun as normal, good to see everyone laughing, joking, taking the piss Thanks to John S. & Sasha at Knockhill for sorting out display space, hopefully next year we will get some tracktime organised. Will post a few pics later. Cheers, Del
micra_wrc Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Grant and I had a good time today, we left early to avoid the traffic. There were enough display stands to keep us amused for a while. My fav was the baby quad bike track - one of the wee boys could be the next Colin McRae...... accelerating like mad round the oval and braking when he crashed into the walls/other riders! Good to see everyone, the SIDC stand looked ace. Imy and Grant PS - echo WRXMANIA's comments re: how shiny Swiggi's car was
Vixter Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 It was nice to come up today and meet a few people. Thought the ten quid was a bit steep though. Infact cost me 20quid cause i took my brother. Ah well never mind it was cool to say hello.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Came up with my dad & bro' ( thanks to JohnS for the tickets) We left at 1 o'clock in utter disgust when the £2.50 club started "draggin"on the strip I will never go the the motorfair again.......it was PURE GASH in terms of spectating...... The SIDC stand was lookin' smart though chaps Cheers Cal
jcscoob Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Thanks to John S for the tickets.. had a great day on the chopper and that, all good. some names to faces. Ps, did any one see the real big silver merc do'in the red lambo ?? mad !!
MS S6CUB Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Had a fab day - as always with you guys It was great to meet new faces - Allie (HISOOB's lovely wife), Vixter, Spooks and Rosie (now you can put a face to the msn warrior SMA01 and his mate - I promise I never touched your car.... Wee Andy - cheers for the black eye and stab wounds Carole - do not bring alcohol for me again, ok do but please make sure I behave, lol... SIDC stand looked great - althought the mondeo club did give us a run for our money and yes Swiggi's car was shiny, it gets more love than me (looking for sympathy here) Must say though - the Ferraris were hot Think I'd even sell Swiggi for one of those bad boys.... Finally - note to self - must take 'sensible' shoes next time...
wilky Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Bah! Missed a good day because I was in bushes doing things with the weekend Warriors in the hills of Argyll. The falcon wouldnt have made it anyway, my front diff sounds like a bag of spanners, after my shockingly quick run in the pouring rain at Crail. Im dropping the box out on wed night and sending it off to a nice man while im doing the USA "thang". Sounds like you all had a good time. Callum W
wrxmania Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 << SIDC stand looked great - althought the mondeo club did give us a run for our money and yes Swiggi's car was shiny, it gets more love than me (looking for sympathy here) ... >> That is bad news - the car was manky with dust - if that';s the love he gives to his car then God help you! Brian

fai17 Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 had a great family day out. done the helicopter thing. spoke to scott(live). seen loads of nice cars. track was good apart from the £2.50 club. loved the red porsche GT3 with 19"BBS LM. and the 2 chicks at BT stand.
johns Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Sounds like most of you enjoyed the day out Sorry I couldn't make it down. Set off on Sunday morning but got a phone call when I got near Dundee and had to head back home again I'll do my best to try and make sure we get some track time sorted out for next year. Thanks to all of those who were able to make use of the free entry tickets. John
