Aye right you are!

So what if i hate Max Power and all it stands for, i am after all 32 year old and completly happy with the look and performance of my car. My choice of literature aims more towards the JDM specialist end of the market.

No disrespect to anyone who may buy this particular publication, after all we are all allowed to have opinions.

Started of with a bad Mon at work, hit the traffic jam at Newton Mearns, jct at Kilmarnock closed off Southbound. Had to toddle my a*se all the way to Symington to turn round. Got there to interupt a full on discussion about gold plated Almera's. Had my usual Bacon/Cheese Surprise. Yawned for an hour then went home. Got as far as the round about and had to turn round because the belly did not feel right. Pebble-dashed the Brewers Fayre toilet for a while. Got to the A77 to find it closed Northbound as well turned round to head up the back roads through Irvine .

One i shoud not have turned up for i think.

I read all of the CHAV mags and i also now a 40 ish year old man who reads them too!!!!!

its not there fault the cant afford to insure a scooby just because they only have saxos and they are heavily modded thats what they like and thats all they can insure. I also like scoobs but i am a chav and i am proud to be one.In my oppinion most people are chavs on here as they all mod there cars.Folk should not be slated by what they do to there cars.

I wasnt at the meet, but it appears this chav think has got out of hand. Each to there own as they say, people can read what they want. At the end of the day this a Subaru website so we're all here for the same reason...........SUBARUS.face-icon-small-happy.gif

Well said Matt. Everyone has opinions.

I can appreciate the work that goes into a well modified hot hatch or whatever but can't accept the argument about cheaper insurance - the work some people do on their saxo or whatever would invalidate their insurance, I am sure many people do not declare a lot of it and if they wanted to own a Subaru, etc they could spend the money they save on unneeded modifications on the insurance difference or on the actual car.

I always go along the principal of spend money on a car worth spending money on - ie do not spend £10,000 on body stuff, engine work, suspension etc etc when the car is still a 1.2 merit Nova underneath unless it is purely for show use. I am sure some will agree.

The chav smarmy attitude is what I don't like and often giving car enthusiasts and modders a bad name. A genuine car enthusiast and modder is different from a chav as far as I can see, whether it be a saxo, subaru or ferrari.

Here here Matt and Brian, totally agree as a mature adult i can always take constructive ,objective opinions about various subjects including chavs but i am a car enthusiast at heart and love all types of modded cars and modded car magazines and most of these guys with modded motors are also enthusiasts. Some people would do well to remember their pre-Subaru days and give these young guys a break. They could be the members of the future.

"At the end of the day this a Subaru website so we're all here for the same reason...........SUBARUS"

Not necessarily the case Matt. Yes initially set up by like minded Subaru Impreza owners, but the onus was always on it being a 'Drivers Club'.

There are plenty of other sites out there if you want to 'chav' (for want of a better word (and YES I am registered on corsasport.co.uk)) face-icon-small-shocked.gif (we are all allowed some little projects on the side!! face-icon-small-wink.gif ) but the cruise scene was never really looked at on SIDC.

Times change but my opinion doesn't.

(BTW, if you don't have a Scooby can you be in the SLF??? face-icon-small-wink.gif )

This is a Subaru Imprezas drivers club the english speaks for itself. I dont worry about other clubs, just that ours is getting better. I dont care a lot about other clubs and I dont care if anyone agrees but thats life.

We can do what ever Gumball etc we want but the main stuff is kept to the members section, as this is a public forum and we can log in anywhere ie Web cafe...and say what we want. If peeps have a stronger opinion they should attend a meet or contact the commitee and express their feelings.

This would be better than venting our opinions on a public site....YES..

If anyone has suumin to say, dont make it public!!!!!

There are too many keyboard warriors out there, you know who you are.

PS. MOAN THE SCOOBS.
