A/F Gauge Help!!

This is a general question about my Impreza.

Its a MY98, and we're currently trying to fit a Digital A/F Meter to it.

We've found the earth and ignition source, and mounted the actual gauge in a temporary position until I spray my pillar pod.

There are 3 wires on the Lambda Sensor, 2 white and a black, what we are unsure of is which wire to attach the wire from the gauge to. We think its one of the white ones, but which one we dont know!?

Urgent help please!!!!!

I take it, the lambda is a universal one?

It was on the car when I got it, was Johnny50's car before mine.
