Is this a problem or not

picked up a new Impreze wrx wagon 1st march. Noticed after a couple of days that I started to get a smell from the clutch only after reversing or going up the ramps to the garage it's like I had been sitting sliping the clutch for 5 mins but I'm not sliping.

Is this because the car is new or I'm be to gentle or is somthing not quite right. Never had this problem with any of my other cars don't think it's my driving style

Hate to say it but its pretty normal, they dont like revs in reverse too much ...... very common.

Yup had that as well reversing out of my parents steep drive, I was in a bit of a panic at first then found out its common.
