Fractal Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Hi guys, I found this in Glasgow and I was wondering if anyone has any idea what it's all about? I originally found it when walking to work on Friday and had to take some pics with my phone but went back today with my camera. Here's the link to my album - the password is Scooby (note the capital S): My Album Also here is a link to a short vid I took on my camera aswell. It's 17mb, just under a minute in length and it's a .mov file so you'll need Quicktime to play it. If you don't have it and want to see it you can get it below: Short Vid Quicktime Player I was thinking it was an advert of some sort, but why someone would advertise an old car I don't know. Someone suggested it could be a students art project, though I really don't know. It was "parked" up on Brunswick St, just off of Ingram St in the city centre Any clues anyone? It's really bugging me now!! Thanks guys.
IanJ Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Hi, I couldn't access your album the clicky doesn't work and neither did cut n paste. The video however did work. That is excellent. No idea what purpose it serves but there is a lot of work gone into it! Ian
Fractal Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 K, Sorry....http:// was already in the box for the link and I added the link in after it so basically it had http://http://photobucket.com....should be good now though. Soz
ozzy Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Can someone drive it to the Glasgow meet on the 28th?
dougster Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 I'll bring my new car to the next meet. Unfortunately the cloaking device does need some more work. P.S. It's nice to see I am still remembered on a certain bbs.
Gordon Shek Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 It's the new "Classic Light Weight Version Type R". Only comes in white and it's got special Yokohama branded tyres which match the car. I wonder how he/she polishes it? Anyway, very cool, I wonder how much the insurance costs?
rickydiver Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Dougster Yeah you are still remembered over there, but only cause I was having a wee look to see what was happening on the other side I am sure the mods still miss you though
fraser_drinkwater Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 i take it back after i met wullie and he said he was going.
Sti-04!! Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 So does anyone know what it is ?? I have just emailed a mate who is a journalist to see if he knows anything
Fractal Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 I've asked almost everyone I've spoke to and I've emailed a couple of newspapers but I still have absolutely no clue as to what this is! Anyone got Magnum PI's number?! lol
wilky Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Parking spaces are a premium in Japan. So much so that you have to prove that you have one before you can buy a car ! This little critter is what people drag out of thier garden and use to reserve thier parking space when they go to work in the morning. Even though thier space is bought and paid for people will still park in it and not mind about the fine. The little Jap dude that once owned this obviously had a scooby. Bless him. Someone has obviously imported this. You heard it here first, Amazing, but true. Dont Clap, just throw money. Callum
the squiggle Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Would concur as i know they sell inflatable cars for that purpose. If that one is ever put up for sale i will defo buy it but i am sick in the head. Grant
