billyboy Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 as i was the person who put up the first post suggesting the santa cruise to yorkhill,i would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your efforts and the fantastic day we had cruising to yorkhill.the look on peoples faces when we went down byres rd and in particular the wee girl who stood in amazment seeing santa drive a scooby. but above all we collected somewhere in the region of 300 presents which given the time we had was fabtastic.you can all be proud that we have made a difference to the lives of sick kids in yorkhill and they will have enough presents this year to go round. i wasn't really looking forward to christmas this year as i lost my mum just after christmas last year but this had made a big difference im sure she would be proud of us all. in case i dont see you before the 29th be sure that you and all your friends and family have a fantastic christmas YOU DESERVE IT. BILLY

derek_robertson Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Cheers Billy A big THANKS goes to yourself & Jean for getting the Scottish Santa Cruise off the ground this year & liasing with the staff at Yorkhill. I would also like to thank Noel for collecting & storing all those presents, special thanks to Margaret for the soup & sandwiches.Sorry we couldn't stay to wash the dishes Big Andy & wee Andy looked "santastic" in their costumes, great effort in getting them made in such a short time. Also like to thank Malky & Andy for getting Underground Graphics to supply the stickers at a very reasonable price. Final thanks goes to all the people who participated & gave so generously to Santa Cruise 2004,the kids at Yorkhill are going to have a great christmas this year. Heres to them Cheers, Del
DEVLIN Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 Billyboy , I dont think we need any thanks. All I needed was to hear how appreciative the children were for the pressies and it was a nice touch to hear that the staff were overwhelmed at the amount of gifts we ( and all who participated ) donated to this worthwhile cause. Next major get together is a 21 Subaru drive by salute at ma waddin in May 05.
keap_scooby2 Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 barry, where are you tying the knot ... we would need to know ... see if there was enough space for 21 scoobs ....... remember if grants there he would blow away a few hats with that exhaust!
derek_robertson Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 << Next major get together is a 21 Subaru drive by salute at ma waddin in May 05. >> Why not hire a white scooby for your do mmmmm................I can feel a new business venture looming LOL Del
phil Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Sounds like you had a great time I know we did down South Get the Pic's to derek@sidc.co.uk So we can get them on the santacruise Website www.santacruise.co.uk
the squiggle Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Billy, There's no need to thank us. I'm with Devlin. Just hearing about the kids reactions was enough. Also the convoy was well smart, how nice did the cars look? Phil, will email them to Derek to be mounted on the Santa Cruise website. A big shout to all who were involved, let make it bigger and better next year. Grant and Imy
andrew_duff Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Same goes for me Billy , a little bit of good goes a long way and just seeing that one wee girls reaction has made christmas that bit more special for me Roll on next year cheers eveyone !!!! Scooby Santa
Stiks Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 A fine day... for many reasons - the true spirit of Xmas rekindled, meeting some new faces (for me anyway), and putting all that boot space to good use for once. Promise I'll bring a less grumpy mini elf with me next year ! Byres Rd was just fab. Keith
ANDYJDMSTI Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Well done everyone just wish i could have been there too maybe next year
the squiggle Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Stiks, pleasure to meet you big chap, nice brief and good to put a face to a name I thought my amateur Traffic cop act was top fun, when we were stuck heading on to the Auchenairn Rd. Stuck at the back of the queue thinking that nobody is ever going to let us charitable fellows out of here, i thought, time for some dodgy road manouveres here. Up the inside lane straight out into the flow of traffic and stopping everyone coming from the left hand side thus procedding to let the flow of Scoobies carry on unimpeded. SUPERB even Imy applauded my dangerous and charitable actions Next year will be bigger and better with all locations covered. It will be hard to top Byres Rd and the look on everybodies faces when they seen Big Andy head to toe in Santa gear Grant
karps Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 i thought we did really well for a trial run now we know what were doing, next year will be at least twice as big
