sti-zlv Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Was speaking to my mate Gav today who is new salesman at drive or as it is now known David Morrison Subaru, he has the job of turning round the reputation of the dealership. He suggested that they hold a meet and through on a buffet for us one night. As soon as he mentioned food I thought it was a brilliant idea. We can have a look at the new models and the fancy prodrive gear and ask as many questions about servicing etc as we like. Just wondered if anyone would be up for this and any dates in mind? 1) Matt (sti-zlv) A thursday night perhaps.

dougster Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Why not get all the owners of blown up scoobs purchased from 'Drive' to turn up? That would make it a busy night!!!!! (am I allowed to be controversial on SIDC?)
jamie_wood Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Did you read this bit??? << he has the job of turning round the reputation of the dealership >> No point in trying to make his job harder. And Scoobys rarely blow up under normal driving. Its usually got some driver input too. No matter what dealer you go into in the UK there is always a scooby withthe engine out, getting a re-build. How come folk always blame the dealer when it goes bang?? Theres only so much they can do. Anyway, you going up Dougster??
GrantyBoy Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Yeah I could come down to this, good way of meeting you guys. Got a date yet?

IanJ Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 For me it'll take more than a free sarnie and them changing the decor of the showroom, to make me spend anymore money there. Now if they had properly trained mechanics (Not just ones who have worked on Micras and they are japanese, so it's all the same). If they had sales and service staff without a holier than thou attitude and if they bothered to order in the parts or even do the work as promised and communicate when they have an issue. THEN i might consider going back to them. Plus why do their cars seem to be a helluva lot more expensive than other dealers?? Just my tuppence, Ian
Grovit Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Don't want to make this a thread for major discussion as it's more of an invite type thread, however from looking at Ian's comments (and other peoples as well), it'd appear that a few people have had problems with this dealership. Everyone will have had bad experiences with dealers from time to time, however things do change. I personally thought they were pretty top notch. Out of curioisty what were the changes that took place at Morrions - ie, management, staff, prices......etc etc ....Is it only me that think they're ok.....?
sti-zlv Posted November 25, 2004 Author Posted November 25, 2004 I understand that some will have had good experiences and others not but after having dealings with most dealers know they are all the same. The main changes at Morrisons are in the sales side, my mate Gav has never been a car salesman he is a subaru enthusiast and has been for years so he knows the bad things about dealerships through his own experiences. He was given the job as salesman but also to change some oppinions and he appears to be doing very well. Being a sidc member himself he felt the meet would be a good way to show (perhaps his biggest customer base) the changes. So I propose to all those with bad opinions to come along and meet Gav and if they are brave enough some of the mechanics and see if there are changes for the good. If you feel no, you can always go to another dealer. In my experiance if you get to now the staff you feel happier intrusting them with your pride and joy or your hard earned cash. (sorry for rambling) Matt
IanJ Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 So have they actually invested in their mechanics? The comment on their skills wasn't really directed at them. It appeared to me that Morrisons didn't bother training the lads on the products. Then you had a salesman who's head was too far up his own backside to see anything.....I could go on. So have they got rid of Derek from sales? Does you mate Gav have a private plate on his scoob??
